Sassy Bass Amazin' Grill - Gulf Shores

The food at this restaurant was delicious. It is one of the few dining options available in Fort Morgan, but the quality was excellent. All of us in our group were satisfied with our meals.

Food was good and service was quick. Rather loud and not a ton of parking, but overall a great experience

I don't give many 1 star reviews but this was the worst meal I've had since college and I paid $185 for it. The positives were the servers were friendly and attentive and the live music was a lot of fun! That is all. We know several people who were with us on our trip that ate here as well and all of them said they would never go back. The Chilean Sea Bass was very bland until you poured the citrus beurre blanc on it. The vegetable were tasteless and over cooked. The potatoes were inedible unless you used ketchup to mask the grease flavor. The crab bisque had way too many shells and way too little flavor. The chicken fingers had 3 shrimp size fingers. My 6 year old son needed two of the chicken finger meals to fill him. My wife doesn't eat sea food, she ordered the grilled skirt steak recommended by our server and it was awful. It was greasy and rubbery and those are two things a steak should never be.

I was so wanting to like this place, but it was so hot in the restaurant that you couldn't enjoy any of it. The first sign to turn around and leave was the look of the steaks in the cabinet when you enter. I'm hoping they were just marinating. We went ahead and stayed hoping things would be better. The grilled snapper was very good but the veggies and rice were way over cooked. Don't get the fries... they say that they are fresh cut fries. They are fresh cut out of the bag. I just don't know if our family will be returning.

If you are able to withstand temperatures warmer than the hot air outside, you will be fine. If you have plenty of time to wait for your order (90 minutes for our table of six) BEFORE the dinner rush, you'll be fine. If either of those things light a short fuse with you, avoid this restaurant! We arrived before 5pm and were unable to leave until 7:30. Getting the check took almost as long as the wait for food. The food was average. It wasn't worth the heat or the slow wait time. This was a one and done for us! It was so hot inside I felt so sorry for the food runners. They bore the brunt of the heat, literally. 6-28-24
