Mikato Japanese - Gulf Shores

We had a group there while we visited holiday. the chef was fun/healthy and eating was just as good as most hibachi restaurants. I had the sukiyaki and it was very good.

Sushi was great! Next time we will try the Hibachi. Inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. This is now our favorite Gulf Shores Orange Beach Japanese restaurant.

Sushi good. Service ok. What we didn't appreciate was the guy who served us our plate setting our plate down, coughing in his hand and waiving the same hand to present our plate and tell us to enjoy our meal. This would have been red flag pre-Covid, let alone in the midst of it.

First time to eat here and I was highly disappointed. To begin with, we were seated and waited for twenty minutes before our glasses of water arrived and then another ten for the chef. Young tall waiter was often confused, forgot the cokes till our party Ask another server to help with getting them. The food was so overly seasoned and my husband and I got sick later on. We weren’t sure if the seasoning was too much or it was covering spoiled meat. I felt the portions were small and I still can’t figure out why the bill was so high. My order was 17.95, my husbands and grandsons was 24.95 and we had two waters and a coke. The bill shows your charged 3.00 for the fried rice and I didn’t get that as I like the plain white. He handed me a check for 99.04 to which I gave him a card and they charged 4.00 to use my visa. I would not recommend this place at all

Great service and food was good. They could use more seasoning on noodles. They could also clean the fixtures in the front such as the trees, ninja and samurai. they were gross with dust and dirt and took away from an otherwise positive vibe. Spent $200 for dinner for 6.
