What Claude Godard doesn't like about Bistrot'50:
Tried it as it had just opened and sat on the terrace since it was a nice night and too noisy inside. Unfortunately there is no non-smoker area on the terrace which is fairly bothersome when you are eating surrounded by smokers. The food was...OK but nothing special and fairly expensive for what it is. View all feedback.
Specials change daily according to season and market. Huge olive tree in the middle of the terrasse.Ordered starter: roasted figs in capsicum coulis with gorgonzola espuma and crispy pancetta. Main: cod with celery puree, and pineapple tomatoes. Yummy dessert of fromage blanc with ripe banana puree, yellow kiwi and crusty sesame-chocolate.Excellent and nice friendly service
Gujan Mestras has lots of restaurants to choose from and we picked Bistro 50 for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by what was offered. It is a very friendly and relaxed establishment with a very interesting menu and good wine selection. The oysters were an excellent starter with a pork patty on the side making an interesting combination. The langoustines were really great with the risotto. The finale of crime brûlée in individual eggshells was a real surprise. An enterprising chef with a very friendly team working in very pleasant surroundings. Yes we enjoyed our visit and recommend it as a place not to be missed. There is ready packing outside. Will definitely return.

We had oysters from Arcachon basin served in a, for us, new way along with sausage - an interesting and tasty combination! The langoustines with risotto was an amazing dish, the shellfish was perfectly cooked and the risotto not too grainy nor too liquidy. The service was friendly, helpful and excellent. We would definitely recommend this place and return if in the area!
So good that we ate there twice. A very interesting menu and excellent quality at a very reasonable price. Service was very friendly and helpful. If you are staying in the Arcachon basin it is very much worth a visit and we would definitely go back if in the area.
