This restaurant was a few minutes drive from the Quinta we stayed in. It was surprisingly good food! The waiter was kind and helped us with a few translations as the menu was in Portuguese. The loins with mushroom sauce was so good, as was the salmon. Portion sizes are big! Worth the visit.
One of the worst food experiences I have had in Portugal. I asked for a local specialty and was recommended the beef with an egg on top. A boiled piece of over salted meat arrived under a slice of bacon with a fried egg on top. Surrounded by finely sliced fried potatoes. Terrible! I also had the pate . I believe they could learn a lot from the French when it comes to the use of this word. Their pate was nothing more than tinned tuna mixed with a bit of mayonnaise and onion. Served in a dish with some toasted bread. An expensive, disappointing and awful food experience. Despite having asked for the smaller version, I was charged for the larger version, at 14 euro, and €4 for the pate . At least the glass of table wine and the coffee met expectations.
Even if not in the city it self this restaurant makes the trip worth. Fine food finer wine and ambient to go with it all. Nothings seems out of place nor too much or too little.
Very good service and good quality/price ratio. Very good for group dinners.
