We tried to get in here the first time to be told by the stressed manager there was a 30 minute wait, so we went to another place down the road. There are loads of places to eat so don’t worry. The second time was much nicer. The food is standard holiday fayre, salads, moules, chips, etc and as such did its job but I’m not sure it’s a destination restaurant. The staff were a bit bored/glazed over. Don’t know it this... View all feedback.
What Theresia Niemann doesn't like about L'olivier:
Not sure I'd bother coming here again, it's not cheap, the quantity/quality ratio is all wrong, and the food is a bit bland. Service was good, friendly and fast. Nice outdoor terrace for a drink, but perhaps look for dinner elsewhere. View all feedback.
After a disappointing, expensive hotel meal the night before, we decided to go for a creperie in the town. Sadly, the one we chose was just closing up when we arrived not sure why, at 7pm on a Thursday night, but hey... Just along the street, however, is l'Olivier. There is an inviting sheltered courtyard at the front, so we went in. The wind was a bit chilly, so Madame offered us a table inside. I chose moules creme, hoping to have a good simple experience of fresh local seafood. My husband opted for a galette, which you can personnalise with your favourite fillings. Frites all round. The food was lovely freshly cooked, the mussels were small but very tasty and the broth delicious. The galette also went down very well, along with a carafe of cider. Pudding was crepes, one with butter and caramel, and one with butter and strawberry jam. A cup of good coffee. What more could you want? Not expensive, and food you just want to eat, rather than admire.

The staff were a bit bored/glazed over. Don’t know it this was holiday season fatigue but it didn’t enhance the experience. It’s a great place to sit and watch the world go by, and has loads of outside covered seating, but I wouldn’t go there for that special occasion, just some standard nosh. The restaurant has a good position halfway along the narrow semi-pedestrianised main street, and has the space for a little terrace at its front, mostly shaded with umbrellas. The service by a young woman (teenager ? was prompt and enthusiastic without being very knowledgeable, and we gave up on our original idea of having a cocktail, settling instead for a bottle of regional white wine. One of us had a tomato salad starter, 3 different and nice sorts of tomatoes with some indifferent greens, the other a small plate of small langoustines. For main courses, the tomato salad person had a large plate of slightly bigger langoustines, and the other a crepe (this is Brittany after all with scallops (only 2 regrettably . Disappointingly the langoustines, large and small, weren't properly cooked in some way and had gone very soft inside the shells and difficult to remove.

Visited 3 times on our recent trip to France! The staff are very friendly and accommodating always found space for us! Large selection of seafood dishes but also chicken and steak etc. Very reasonably priced! The spicy chicken was a favourite!!
