The food was excellent! However, my experience with the service was quite different from my husband’s. Our waitress checked in with us when our food arrived, but after that we hardly saw her. Our drinks were close to empty, and another waitress came over to ask about refills. My husband mentioned his drink, and I said I was drinking water, which looked like tea since I used a drop in. Instead of bringing me my water, she returned with a drink for my husband. I thought she just needed to get my water from somewhere else. Twenty minutes later, I still hadn’t received my refill. During that time, our original waitress walked past our table several times (my empty glass was right at the edge), but she never stopped to check on us. Eventually, my husband asked for boxes and the check. I mentioned that I hadn’t received my refill when I asked for it, and was told it was my fault for saying I had a drink (despite my glass being clearly empty). When the waitress arrived, I pointed out that she hadn’t checked on us after she served the food, but she didn’t respond. My husband reiterated that we just needed the check and the boxes. The waitress who brought my husband a drink refill returned with just one box! At that point, I was quite annoyed and asked if I was invisible. She replied that I only asked for one box; however, no one mentioned the word “one.” We hadn’t even touched our food—my plate was full because I didn’t get my refill, and my husband refused to eat until I had something to drink. A man came out with my box, and then our original waitress approached with her credit card reader and asked how we were paying and if we were ready to settle the bill. It came to $53 and change, and we had never been offered a check to see what we were actually paying for beforehand; we only received the total after we had already paid. My husband’s entire po-boy was just half a sandwich. Despite these service issues, once we finally got to eat, the food was fantastic. The okra was amazing—you have to try it! I figured the staff might have been overwhelmed, so I tipped over 20% as a gesture and we left. Overall, I would rate it: Food: 5, Service: 1, Atmosphere: 5.
Wow, I have to say, even though Google restricts the use of strong language, this is hands down the best cheesecake I've ever tasted! There aren't enough words to truly describe how incredible it is. And the red beans and rice? It's like New Orleans has made its way up north—absolutely amazing!
You absolutely must visit this restaurant! It offers the best food I've ever tasted. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy, clean, and inviting. We started with the crawfish popcorn and cheese stick appetizers, both of which were fantastic. For our main dishes, we had shrimp and grits, ribeye steak, along with mac and cheese, okra, and a baked potato on the side. I can't wait to come back. Thank you to the wonderful ladies for the exceptional service and delicious food!
I visited this restaurant for lunch with my parents and was extremely impressed by both the food and the service. I ordered the jambalaya with shrimp and the white chocolate bourbon cheesecake, and both dishes were fantastic. They had great flavor, were not dry at all, and I would definitely order them again if I'm in the area. The woman who took our orders was incredibly friendly and went the extra mile by bringing out a live crawfish to show us just how fresh the food is. I highly recommend this place—10 out of 10!
