Lookout Winery
Description
Perched on a mountainside overlooking the Tennessee River, this small winery-restaurant delivers wood-fired, authentic Italian-style pizza and sweeping views. Many praise the thin, crispy crusts and knowledgeable, friendly staff, while on-site wines divide opinions—from outstanding to poor—and are sold by the bottle for self-pour. Casual, rustic service and disposable plates keep it low-key; occasional pricing and owner-interaction complaints suggest charm with room to mature into the destination it could be.

My wife and I have been on the hunt for authentic Italian pizza since our trip to Ripa d’Orcia, Tuscany, and we finally found it! The wood-fired pizzas feature light, flavorful ingredients on a thin, crispy crust—truly the real deal. The only improvement I would suggest is arranging the seating around round tables for a cozier atmosphere. It's definitely worth the scenic drive along the river!
Nestled on the mountainside with a stunning view of the Tennessee River, this restaurant is the perfect spot to relax with a bottle of wine crafted on-site and indulge in some delicious pizza and other tasty dishes. The pizza is cooked in an 800-degree wood-fired oven, resulting in a fantastic flavor thanks to the use of authentic imported ingredients.
The service was excellent and the pizza was the best I have ever had. The flavors were fresh and distinct. The wines weren't my thing but the overall experience was great.
This restaurant offers the best Italian pizza, incredible wine, and a welcoming owner, making it a truly special place! Plus, the view is simply spectacular!
This is another one of the “fake reviews” that is coming for the owner personally. The wine was bad. The atmosphere was not great. The views and pizza were okay. This place could be a neat spot if the owner would listen to the reviews. Response: I did not buy any bottles and I did not even finish all of the wine in my flight
