Contribute FeedbackThe Bookshelf in Guelph offers a unique dining experience with a bookstore and theatre. The food is good, though some find it overpriced and lacking variety. The atmosphere has a hipster vibe and the staff are friendly. Enjoy a cozy setting for a meal, coffee, or browsing books and art. The movie theater showcases indie films and the back terrace is lovely in the summer. Overall, a great spot for any occasion, with tasty dishes, cool merchandise, and a welcoming environment that contributes to its longstanding popularity as a local favorite.
I don't visit the bookstore that much but their cinema is great. The theatre is always clean, and they have some interesting and thought provoking, showings.
They are a solid small bookstore, but, as a small bookstore, there is a finite limit to what they can stock. Worth checking anyway, I've sometimes been surprised.
Friendly and helpful staff, well curated movies, great book selection and same day delivery of books all contribute to this being one of my favourite places in Guelph.
Took my daughter to watch Asteroid City. First time I'd been there since university in the late 90's. Updated, but not so much as to lose that small venue feel. Happy to share this spot with my daughter, and we will definitely be back. We'll also be spending some time in the bookstore upon insistence by my girl... :
It’s a very cute bookstore but they sell all books full price and charge more for books then they do at indigo. They don’t do sales normally so I learned the hard way that to shop more affordably to go to indigo for now on. I called and asked if they would price match and they said no so I had to keep the books full price which was unfortunate.
