What Jensen Swaniawski doesn't like about Opa Kitchen:
Good location, good price, but NOT friendly service. We order a breakfast with scramble eggs + sausage, Canadian Benedict and French toast. Breakfast was ok. French toast was good, they used really good white bread to make it. Benedict was not good at all, peameal bacon was super dry, asked for poached medium, but received the very soft poached eggs. I did not enjoy the Benedict at all. Service just brutal......, onl... View all feedback.
What a nice place. Well decorated and appointed so is an overall nice place to eat. The service was quick, the menu robust (and reasonably priced), the sausages and hash browns cooked on a grill (rather than the deep fryer too many places default to these days), the eggs were flawless and the presentation was suitable. I had eggs w. sausage and toast, my companion an omelette, and we found both to be more than satisfying. The coffee was good too. I will return.
We have had both breakfast and lunch here. Both meals have be fast, hot and fresh. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is excellent. Definitely a place to try!
This place is not far from my work, been for mostly breakfast but the occasional lunch. It's that typical local family restaurant. I have not had anything "bad" yet. Greek food is really good as well and I quite often get take out. Never been on the weekend but heard they can get quite busy for breakfast.
I have had the occasion twice this week to eat at Opa's Kitchen. both times the food was excellent. The first time we went was a weekday morning and the service was great. The waitress was welcoming and friendly but not pushy. Unfortunately we went again today (Sunday) and the service was nothing like the first time. We found our waitress unfriendly and bordering on rude. We were four people and a toddler and when we said we needed a highchair she said "we don't have any". I could clearly see that they did as there were two in use. I asked about a booster seat and she said no. I asked if there was anything they had or could do to help us out. She just kept saying no, there was no attempt at trying to accommodate us nor did she really appear to care. We were talking amongst ourselves on whether to leave or try to make it work and she did comment that "that is up to you". Well to make a long story short we did stay and the food was so good however it would have been easier if we hadn't had to have an 18 month on a lap the whole time. I know we weren't the only ones unhappy with her service and attitude, we were speaking with people next to us who also had a toddler with them and no booster seat available. I am disappointed in todays visit but I will likely go back. I am not sure if I would want to take my granddaughter with me and I sure hope we don't get that same waitress.
