Coco Chicken - Guelph

Here is a review by someone who is used to having good food . .I really wonder how people gave this place more than a 2 star rating . The food looked good but was absolutely TASTELESS . Despite the place having a weird off putting smell when I walked in& it not being the most clean /sanitary place ,I decided to try it anyways . Big MISTAKE. The popcorn chicken was super bland and DRY/chewy. It tasted as if there was no seasoning on the chicken itself nor the batter it was fried in (looking at the chicken the batter just seemed plain no black pepper or other spices . My jaws hurt after chewing on certain pieces of popcorn chicken with how dry and chewy it was . The “Asian slaw” just seemed to be pickled cabbage with those very thinly sliced and small carrots ..of which I got 3; not creamy and no vinegairette like flavour .The rice was also bland and tasteless . Normally korean fried chicken is pretty yummy so I am questioning this restaurant’s standards and care when making food.

Tasted like it was cooked in old oil, was darker than the pictures online, couldn't finish it it was so bad. No one picked up when I called.edit in response: this was weeks ago and I am not an instagramer, I dont take pictures of everything I eat. It will be my first and last experiance.2nd edit: looks like you just complain at low star reviews and cant accept you're sub par.

No doubt in my mind that this is a 5 star chicken sandwich. We had the sweet and spicy and the honey garlic— both are great! Massive portions, this is a 6 inch tall chicken sandwich and a whole load of waffles fries. Not only was the sandwich delicious with the option of having kimchi and cheese (say yes to everything, the flavours work perfectly together), but the waffle fries were cut and cooked beautifully. Crispy and delicious. The quality can not be beat! Great sandwich, impressive portions, and all for a good price.

Their food tastes fresh and delicious. Big portions for sharing with friends.

Wow it tastes really good! Although, I recommend sharing the cocobop. If you eat a whole cocobop on your own you may feel sick. It's loaded with crispy chicken and sauce!
