We have eaten here several times and always enjoyed the food, very tasty, not large portions, but adequate for our appetites and the couple who own it were very nice to deal with. We decided to order in one day, and I picked it up. Got home and opened our lamb dish...5 very. very, small pieces of lamb!! I couldn 't believe it! Five pieces! My husband and I stopped in for dinner this evening. I have never been to the Bombay cafe before although my husband has. We were served by a wonderful gentleman with a lovely smile and a quiet and calm manner. He was only too pleased to explain some of the items to us. My husband likes spicy meat dishes whereas I prefer less spicy vegetarian and we were both very well accommodated! The place was spotless and quiet and the service was wonderful......timed perfectly!! The food was absolutely delicious and spiced to perfection for each of us. The vegetables were crispy and not overcooked and the meat was incredibly tender. The naan bread (and I'm not a bread lover) was SO good...warm and tasty. The prices are most reasonable and less than many other places we have been to. We will definately be going back again soon.
My go-to. Great little place to go for indian in Guelph. Their lunch special is amazing and their vegetable samosas my favourite, this is a place I regularly go for takeout. highly recommended
Great! BUT.... Love this place. Have done since 1995. The best Indian in Guelph, esp the pakora. However, check your takeout orders. We live out of town now and twice have arrived back without any rice with the order. They seem to add it last and they repeatedly miss it, making for a 40 min delay at home while I make my own rice. Don't take their word for it, check the order to make sure everything is there. That being said, try them. The family that runs it is super nice and the food is excellent.
This is the BEST Indian restaurant in Guelph! In fact, I think it's the best I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot. Most Indian restaurants these days, like Chinese restaurants, are buffet. Not the Bombay Cafe! Each dish is indivisually prepared and perfectly fresh. Here, there's a larger selection, by far, than the average buffet. Better yet, the prices are equally reasonable. I can't recommend the Bombay enough!
Excellent Food made by the most lovely couple. Have been visiting for a few years now and extremely pleased to know they honour mask exemptions. Thank you kindly for your incomparable service.
