I found Annie's by chance driving around my new office locale in Guelph. They've been operating for 21 years I was told by the very attentive barkeeper. Beer was cold and fresh, and the Chicken Caesar Wrap was the very best of its kind I have had anywhere, ever. Excellent seasoning, and very ample indeed.I recommend Ample Annie's for a casual lunch and even a business lunch. I have not been there for dinner, but unde... View all feedback.
What Telly Morar doesn't like about Ample Annie's Roadhouse:
If you want to sit around a bunch of regulars swearing, get drunk, poor service, only drink out of a bottle type bar. This is the place for you. Wings are good...but I won't eat here anymore after I seen the behavior from adults and the condition of the bar. Cursing constantly and the staff was joining in which made it worse. Wait staff very attentive to those gathered at the bar. Table service was very very slow. The food was actually ok. It seemed to me like we were an inconvenience because we did not order any alcoholic drinks.
Read a few really bad reviews. Guess what ? It's a roadhouse / pub kind of place close to a large number of factories. If you are looking for a quiet romantic place to impress a date, this place is not for you. The wings are great. Burgers a great. Place is sometimes understaffed, so yes it can sometimes be a little slow. The fact there are so many regulars should tell you the food is decent and the prices are reasonable. Most people that go here are hard working blue collar types. Yes the regulars tend to get better service. Does that surprise anyone? Of course you look after the people that pay the bills. The servers are usually pretty friendly, unless you come off with some attitude. Then you get back what you dish out. Sure you will hear some off color language from a few of the customers. If it's going to offend you I suggest you find someplace else. The regulars seem to like the place and they have never given me a hard time. Annies doesn't try to be what it is not. Simple pub food and a place to sit and relax.

Stopped in for an afternoon drink, ordered two Jacks, and got some comment like 'Oh, one of those.' We were sitting at the bar, ordered another Jack, and she turned around and poured a Wiser. When we pointed it out, she said 'well, it's just as good.' She gave us a replacement, which we drank and left. Not sure whether she planned to serve us Wisers and charge for Jack. but we weren't hanging around to see. Won't be back.
