The atmosphere was really great. The staff was very attentive and nice. The food was amazing. I had a pig dish in the Adobo sauce. My friend had the Maya Lasagne. I would definitely recommend it if you were ever in Guatemala City. They also had a live band. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Kacao:
Over all: good food. But too expensive. Here is the detail of my experience. My local friend recommended the restaurant. The entry has a big flat parking lot. The interior was traditional with a music performance stage and instruments. I visited at lunch so performance. Most of customers are a big group of tourists. Very loud. We are also a group of people and ordered various food for taste. Fish, beef, pork, veggie.... View all feedback.

Pros: delicious authentic Guatemala food, service and ambience. Cons: somewhat expensive compared to other restaurants.
I really liked this place. The food was great and the atmosphere was excellent. La comida es buena y deliciosa.
What a beautiful restaurant it is just gorgeous inside you can answer on either block one side makes it look like a Hidden Gem and the other looks like the front of a restaurant. I absolutely love the decorations inside the only reason I did not give it five stars is I feel that the chicken should have been a little bit more tender for being an authentic Guatemalan celebratory dish. If could give 4 and 1/2 I would!
Very interesting place. Palapa style roof. Extensive menu. Entrance through parking courtyard off the street. Might not realize the restaurant is in there and pass right by. Had a traditional meal of smoky meat in broth with corn tamallies and rice on the side. Interesting smoke taste... guess cooked over a wood fire. Menus available in English and waiters spoke better English than I speak Spanish. Some marimba, drums and guitar were set up... so guessing the have live music at times. Good place for a large group of 10 to 20. Tables were all ready for a couple parties. Outdoor patio seating also available.
