The decor is a bit strange, with no apparent consistent theme which makes for a sterile atmosphere not the warm cosy effect it would seem was intended. The chef Ivan was a very nice chap who tries hard to please and is indeed very accommodating. We had a garlic soup which he suggested we share and provided two plates for this purpose. The soup was nice, a bit bland but not offensive. Of the two salads we ordered one had an excessive amount of dressing which was unnecessary and the other was supposed to be a warm salad which half of it was, the other half being cold which suggests it was preprepared and not correctly warmed through rather than each component prepared and then then assembled. Also in this salad the pepper skin was tough. When this was brought to the attention of the chef he tried to justify it: In my opinion nothing should ever appear on a plate of food that is inedible. All in all the experience was OK, service was unremarkable though apart from adding items to the bill we did not have, was not bad and overall the meal was acceptable without being remarkable. The price did not reflect the value but was not excessive; except for the wine list which carried mediocre wines at unreasonably inflated prices. Not a negative experience. Would I go back? Probably not.
Lovely taberna with lots of wooden beams and exposed brickwork. Located not far from the Catherdral at Guadix. Excellent food which is also extremely well presented. Professional service prices are a little top end but do reflect a quality dining experience.
Great food, really gourmet food managed by Ivan, Also great staff, kind full and efficient. The wine list is not reach, but the Sommelier Jesus, guides you on recommended wines. Congratulations guys!!
We did not stay at the hotel but had evening meal in restaurant........would highly recommend a meal here. The staff were very attentive without being too over the top. The menu had great variety. The restaurant was busy but we did not feel that the staff were under pressure......the meal was delicious, service excellent, surroundings lovely, a must go for anyone going to Guadix.
Wonderful authentic restaurant with a very welcoming open fire. Happened to be there during lobster week and enjoyed a ceviche actually prepared at our table. Husband had lamb chops which he said were the best he has had in Spain. Great service, nice wine and we were pleasantly surprised at the final bill.
