We sat outside for lunch on a sunny day in March. The weather was great but the patio is in-front of the parking lot with the bathroom windows at one end. The service was extremely pleasant from an older man. My husband had the plat du jour (14E) and was a delicious ton of food. Two pots arrived at the table; the first was linguine in a delicious tomato sauce, the second was tender veal chunks in a rich sauce. We bot... View all feedback.
What Katja Blažević doesn't like about Auberge du Col Saint Georges:
A black hair witch hides behind her bar with an evil look, ready for a terrible reception. Despite your inquiries and smiles, she will always feel unwilling. She burns her old socks in a fireplace that gives the old fashion a terrible smell. Go ahead, never stop! View all feedback.
This place impressed my wife an myself enough that we went back. It was a Sunday and full but we were seated by a rather nasty waitress (the other who also served us was much much nicer). Lesson learnt: Both for the weekends. The food is authentic and good. I had the saute de veau both times and will always have it. Comes in two gigantic portions: one the meat and the other the pasta with meat sauce. My wife always has the brecciu cannelloni-type pasta and loves it.No eau ordinaire here so you get complimentary St George water instead.p.s. they only take cash and there may be some shady characters on quieter days
This local restaurant was on the way of our rental. It looked very local so we decided to stop and try :-)The menu contains a few dishes, so don't expect to have 100 dishes to choose from. You will be able to choose some typical Corsican dishes... GREAT food !!!!The people were extremely nice to us :-)Not expensive at all
Great place for trying local food, very cosy, with big fireplace where the meat is prepared. Great service and very kind owners
Very pleasant place to have lunch or dinner. Good food, great service, inside fireplace where meat is being prepared. Family ambiance.
As often happens when you have great memories of a restaurant the follow up trip can be somewhat of a disappointment. On this second visit we were treated like children instead of paying guests and only stayed as we were so hungry and knew the food was good last time so hoped would be again... We were made to sit at a horrid table in the bar even though a couple arriving after us (also without a reservation) were accommodated in the dining room. They also accommodated THREE tables outside who arrived after us when I had already earlier asked (when shown the horrid bar table) if we could please sit outside and were loudly told NON by the very angry and inappropriate waitress. The veal stew with pasta was as delicious as we remembered but while the presentation was nice, none of the ingredients in the Nicoise Salad had much flavour and the tuna was from a can. It's very busy for Sunday lunch here - make a reservation or tempt the scorn of nasty waitress.
