City Kitchen - Grosse Pointe Farms

I called on May 4th at 5 PM to make a reservation for a birthday dinner at 7 PM on May 9th. I drove 28 miles during rush hour to get there, only to find the restaurant closed upon arrival. When I called the restaurant, a recording informed me that it was closed on May 9th. When I got home, I saw a voicemail from them left less than three hours before the reservation, stating that they were closed due to staffing issues. We had already left by that time. I am extremely disappointed.

The food and service are exceptional, though it is on the expensive side.

My friends took me to this restaurant for my birthday celebration, and the food was absolutely amazing! Our server, Steven, was fantastic. When I return, I will definitely request him. Everything was perfect. Thank you, Jeff Sherry, for an incredible evening and celebration!

It's a very nice and accommodating spot! Hot food was hot, cold food was cold. The server and host were very attentive and professional. Food was very good in its presentation and taste, although I thought the food could use a bit more salt in general. The octopus was great, as was the scallop special. The girlfriend loved the crab cakes. Prices were on par with a restaurant of this quality. It's definitely worth a try.

We had a great dining experience at City Kitchen. Our server was thoughtful and attentive. The water was always filled without asking and used plates were cleared quickly. Appetizers, drinks, and main dish came out fast and were delicious. We’ll be back! Great for a local date night.
