It's frustrating to find a nice clean restaurant that has friendly service and serves terrific food at decent prices!!Well look to the Elm Street Cafe in a lovely small town setting in Grimsby, Ontario. We have actually been here many times and the experience is consistently great. It's delicious food served in generous portions. Believe me you will not leave hungry. Since the restaurant is located in a mall there is p... View all feedback.
What Nayara Delgadillo doesn't like about Elm Street Cafe Grill:
This restaurant is situated in the plaza next to Food Basics, making it a convenient spot to grab a quick meal! We arrived at around 2 pm for a late brunch and lunch. View all feedback.
I have not been to this location since it was the Village Inn..which I had gone to for 30 years!.So my husband and I decided to stop for a late brunch since we were in town. The sign on the door reads open 8am to 3pm.. It was 2:20 Pm so we figured plenty of time to grab a quick Breakfast before 3pm. There was only 2 ppl seated inside when we walked in.. 2 waitresses busy cleaning and get ready to close..it took several minutes before we were even acknowledged standing there.. Then the 2 servers discussed across the restaurant where they would seat us because they were closing.. Then the one said "you can sit here, we have cleaned the rest of the restaurant." Real welcoming NOT! We felt like we were imposing.. After taking our seat she asked if we wanted a drink..yes we wanted coffee..She comes back and says "I had to put in a fresh pot because we are closing" Wow really, still making us feel like we are imposing! So a few minutes later a young couple walks in, and I can feel that the waitress are not happy about it.. They seat the couple..Then the younger one comes out with some big dirty mop and starts mopping the floor!! I Iooked at my husband and said YUCK! Thankful the guy at the other table spoke up and asked if they could put the mop bucket away until he was gone because the smell of cleaner was overwhelming and not something you want to smell while eating! They put the bucket away right away, but the waitress had to try to defend the smell and then the **** manger came over saying something about it being Lavender fragrance!! Come on really just put the bucket away and apologise!.. I thanked the guy for saying something..We get our traditional breakfast and it was ok..but the atmosphere and service made it a awkward experience! At 2:55 Pm a couple of ladies came in and were promptly told we are closed!.. We probably won't go back... I think they are missing the "hospitality" part of the restaurant business! If you close a 3pm wait to shut down until 3pm..or close at 2:30pm if you have to be out the door at 3pm!
Food ok but overpriced, serving very slow and our order was completely mixed up. Used to be better, likely won't return.
Breakfast fast, coffee first. Bacon, toast and scrambled eggs just the way I like it. Nothing fancy. Cheery service.
We are regulars at Elm Street Cafe - every Saturday or Sunday we go for breakfast. The staff are wonderful. Anna and her husband recently sold the restaurant, we hope the new owners keep up the standards! A comfortable place to go to start the weekend.
Food portion was good as well as food itself. Service could definetly improve,we had to dig for incormation as she provided minimal iformation.
