What Thomas Walker doesn't like about Mema's Italian Grinders:
Send my daughter there. She goes to the pick up window greeted like this.. “ what do you want” she says “I’m here to pick up an order” he say “how am I supposed to know that” my daughter said he treated the girl before her very rudely too. Solid grinders. We like to go after after a nice round of golf at the nearby golf courses. Good pit stop on the way home for something hearty and filling.

Stopped in with a friend to grab some lunch. Interesting setup, with only a counter, and no seating, so once you place your order, you just wait in the lobby area for the food.Took about 10 15 minutes to get a couple of sandwiches and an order of toasted ravioli, and the staff did apologize for the wait. There were 2 3 'normal sized ' orders in front of us, so not sure what the holdup was.On to the food. We both got Italian Beef. You can add banana peppers, jalapenos, or mild giardiniera. I like it a bit spicy so I added jalapenos with the giardiniera, but it didn 't add a lot of kick. The sandwich was a good sized serving of meat on a toasted bun, and the meat was fine, but didn 't have any remarkable flavoring. It does not come with a side of au jus, and there may have been some on the sandwich as was advertised on the menu board, but I couldn 't tell for sure. The ravioli was very tasty hot and fresh tasting.I know I 'm the outlier, as most reviews are more positive, and it could be my taste buds or just an average sandwich day. I have had MANY Italian Beef sandwiches in Chicago and elsewhere, so I *think* I have a pretty good standard to measure against. The Grinder looked interesting, and I do love a good grinder, so maybe I 'll try that next time.
