Mochoritsch Griffenrast

This restaurant is good to leave the highway between Italy Klagenfurt Vienna at the handles exit for a pit stop and a beautiful, rustic meal. Austrian Carinthian and Slovenian Croatian (to avoid saying Yugoslav food for the latter foods in generous portions for extremely moderate prices. Those of you who are used at the highway robbery prices of another farm on or near the highway will wonder how the restaurant Mochoritsch can do it. The place is BUSY, but the service is fast. Watch the open kitchen sizzling steaks, frying shnitzels and send pile plates, one after the other. Not only are the prices moderate, but the most important courses (are they even HAVE appetizers?): come with a free tureen (not a bowl, a TURE of soup (selection of two, a generous dish of salad, AND a dessert (selection of four or five). Happy faces everywhere! Near the exit they have a shop full of local (and made in house products such as ham, sausages, salads etc. Don't go in before your lunch!

Surprisingly, this restaurant’s market strategy focused on the daily soup for 1 euro and a free dessert (take away available) to boost the sales. You can get whatever more complex fish and meat dish as well but these two elements remains the most memorable ones. Interesting. Enjoy!

Good food and good prices for a highway restaurant! Staff very nice and English speakers! You also have a very nice terrace and a large parking lot.

This restaurant is very large, always serves a soup and a dessert in large portions. Excellent place to stop between Klagenfurt and Vienna city called handles) but right in front of Autobanh. Good to stop. Most of the time full of people.

Always crowded and efficient as a beehive, the Mohoritsch can guarantee best price-quality. Taste the pumpkin oil which is a great local dressing! Enjoy!
