Huge caterpillar in salad, dumplings filled with watery tasteless paste, fish fillet made from minced fish meat, overcooked potatoes, awful juices. The food was like the cheapest supermarket frozen food.

Parking space is available in... read more Restaurant Hopfgartner is a good place for lunch, especially when you, like us, prefer to keep an eye on the car full of luggage. Parking space is available in front of the hotel and the comfortable restaurant area has a view on this part of...the front court. Prices are reasonable and the service of the staff is quick and polite. The food is rather mediocre; the quality of the beef in my zwieblelrostbraten was not spetacular good, but still edible. The restaurant is frequented by coach tours, due to the location at the main road and the large parking lot next to the restaurant. The first coach, with a group of pensioners, arrived just as we were leaving.

As is was lunchtime we stopped for a light lunch with a...Villacher beer. As it was glorious weather we could sit outside on the forecourt. The food, service and value for money was adequate. I would need a second visit, preferably for a full dinner, to gauge if this restaurant deserves a four point rating. For the time being I stick with a three point rating.
