The customer service was excellent! As a crew member, and first time to this location, I had many questions about their policies. Alisha ? front desk at 6p 6/29/24 was so kind and patient with me. If she didn't know she found out! She worked hard to make me happy! And Warren, our driver, was great! Too! Offering suggestions for dining and letting us know if the van availability. It's these kinds of employees that wou... View all feedback.
What Brian H doesn't like about Marriott Concierge Lounge:
Horrible experience. This Marriott has lost its way. Long gone are the days of Marriott being a home away from home for the weary traveler. Now it's all about the almighty dollar. Customer satisfaction and loyalty is no longer rewarded. I used to love this hotel. I'll never spend another dollar here. So sad how management has changed. I've been staying at this Marriott for over 25 years. Time to find a new favorite h... View all feedback.
Even though we were there for just two nights, our rooms were consistently cleaned, and returning to a freshly made bed with fluffy towels was a delightful touch. The hotel provided all the necessary toiletries, which were noticeably of higher quality than what you typically find at other hotel chains. The complimentary morning coffee and fruit-infused water in the afternoons were much appreciated, and the Marriott Bonvoy internet worked flawlessly, making it easy to stay connected during our conference. I didn't experience any Wi-Fi issues, which is definitely a plus! The hotel is conveniently located near I-85, downtown, and plenty of dining options. If you forget anything or need snacks, there's a Walgreens within walking distance. We enjoyed our evenings at the outdoor pool area, where we had a great time relaxing in the chairs and under the bar after hours, as long as we stayed out of the pool itself, which the hotel staff was fine with. The only reason I didn't give a full four stars is that the walls in the rooms are quite thin. During one afternoon when I was trying to nap, I could hear a conversation happening outside. I'd definitely stay here again, but I would consider bringing a white noise machine to help block out any noise.
I booked a room with two queen beds, and the check-in process was quick and efficient—just about a minute to verify my reservation and get my room key. The staff was friendly and professional. Checking out was equally easy; I simply returned my key and received my receipt on the way out of Greenville. The hotel itself had an air of luxury, likely a contrast to what I’m used to. Everything was immaculately clean, and my room was tidy and well-maintained. I appreciated the little details, like seeing my name on the welcome screen of the TV when I turned it on, which felt special. I had a peaceful night's sleep that helped me recharge after a day of travel. My room was not just clean but also quite pleasant, and the shower was impressive as well! While not every aspect was perfect, my stay was certainly above average. I found the bed comfortable and fell asleep within 10-15 minutes. I even made use of the nearby ice machine, which is a small but vital factor I consider when choosing a hotel—if I use the ice machine, it usually indicates a good stay, even if I do end up getting up in the middle of the night for it. All in all, my experience at the Greenville Marriott was enjoyable and memorable. The hotel’s rates are reasonable, especially during these COVID times, which is great for casual travelers like myself. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area or just passing through. It's located at 1 Parkway East in Greenville, SC, and they mostly handle reservations electronically, typically requiring a major credit card. I’m not sure about cash payments, so it’s best to call ahead for that information. The parking available at this Marriott is quite ample, comparable to something like Costco, which is super convenient whether you're arriving by rental car, getting dropped off, or using rideshare services. For those coming via Amtrak or public transport, I suggest planning your route ahead of time. I wish I could have stayed longer, as I truly enjoyed my time there and would love to return in the future. I give my overall experience 4.0 stars, with 4.5 stars for room comfort and ambiance and 4.5 stars for service. I rate the prices at 3.0 stars. Support local!
Terrible experience. This Marriott has really lost its appeal. The days when Marriott felt like a home away from home for tired travelers are long gone. Now, it's all about making money. Customer satisfaction and loyalty are no longer prioritized. I used to really enjoy staying at this hotel, but I won't be spending another cent here. It's disappointing to see how management has transformed. I've been coming to this Marriott for over 25 years, but it's time to find a new favorite hotel in Greenville. This one just doesn't make the cut anymore.
I learned that hors d'oeuvres would be served in the concierge lounge at 5:30 PM, followed by desserts at 7:30 PM, and breakfast the next morning. The room itself was older but generally clean. However, I did come across some roaches, indicating that the hotel might need to improve its pest control. The bed was comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep. The alarm clock was unplugged when I arrived, and although I plugged it back in, I couldn't figure out how to set it. The parking lot was a decent size and well-lit, which I appreciated. Overall, I had a good stay at this hotel for a reasonable price.
The front desk team is always friendly and accommodating. They often look for opportunities to upgrade my stay using my Bonvoy points without me even having to ask. The concierge level is fantastic, offering complimentary drinks, snacks, and a delightful breakfast each morning, making it well worth the upgrade. While the rooms may be a bit dated, they are still very clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar on-site serve excellent food—the Marriott Burger is absolutely amazing, and they also have some really good sweet tea. Although I now live here and don’t stay at the hotel, I still find myself visiting for that delicious burger and sweet tea. This hotel has definitely become my go-to spot!
