What Khaled Ismaili Idrissi doesn't like about Wasabi Sushi Teriyaki:
$14 for fried calamari straight out of a frozen commercially sold calamari and into a frying basket is a bad start. The sushi rolls were insipid with under seasoned rice and poorly rolled. I can go on and on. It’s clearly a corporate greed scam. To sum it up, vending machines in Japan have better food.Food: 1/5.
I’ve been eating here for 3 years and I have never been disappointed. Wasabi has the BEST sushi I have ever had. It’s always made to order and made fresh! My favs are the playboy and the red blue rolls (which has seared steak on top!! The lunch sushi special is such a great deal. And their ginger dressing is absolutely AMAZING. The servers are always so nice and attentive.Vegetarian options: There are a few options for sushi such as an avocado roll, which is soo yummy and simple. For hibachi there are several different veggie and/or tofu options (age dashi tofu appetizer is super delicious
Recommended and it was good. Friend had grilled salmon that was moist. Gyoza had good flavor, seemed deep fried instead of pan fried. Spicy tuna cut roll was good, fish tasted fresh and a little spice kick. Tempura was fine, just a little doughy in spots, instead of all light crispy. I'll go back to try other dishes.Food: 4/5
Todays visit was my second visit to this restaurant. My first experience, I didn’t want to do a disservice as it was super busy and my waitress was new it was her first day) so I decided to give them another chance. This go round I ordered the combo of teriyaki chicken and steak with veggies and fried rice. This combo comes with a soup OR salad but I asked for both. The teriyaki chicken was was very tender, juicy and portioned well. The steak was also cooked to perfection from my request but there wasn’t as much steak as there was chicken but I wasn’t upset about it. Now the fried rice was not what I was expecting. There were no veggies or anything in the rice, just rice with soy sauce and more black pepper than I would like. The miso soup was my absolute least favorite and the salad with ginger dressing was okay I’ve had better BUT it was fresh). They also give really large portions of food so definitely had enough for two eatingsParking: Located in a shopping plaza so parking is shared. I’ve never had a problem finding good parking.
My wife and I stopped by hoping for a quick, cheap bite to eat before running back to work. We were pleasantly surprised that the food, while indeed cheap, was incredibly flavorful and tastefully presented. The bento portions are extremely generous and make for some wonderful photos to boot. Our waiter was also kind and attentive to our needs. We've resolved to make this spot a weekly hangout for us!
I wasn't impressed with my meal here. Paying $14 for fried calamari that tasted like it came straight from a frozen package was not a good start. The sushi rolls were bland, with rice that was underseasoned and poorly made. I could go on, but it seems obvious that this place is more about corporate greed than quality food. Honestly, I've had better food from vending machines in Japan. Food rating: 1/5.
