An update: I noticed claims about their steamer basket, but the chef really knows how to prepare a delicious fry! I had the oysters on this visit, and they were some of the best I've ever had—sharp, lightly seasoned, and so juicy, as if they had been submerged in a rich broth. Absolutely delicious. The name change and renovations (check out the updated photos) are also a nice touch. Enjoy your visit! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Nola Seafood Steakhouse:
I decided to entertain the hype I have heard about this place. They were very busy which is always a good thing. The service was not bad, but could have been a little bit better. The real reason for the 3 star, is the food. The food is tasty but not impressive for the price point. The crab meat tasted old and my lobster was like chewing on a car tire. The crab cake was full of filler such as breadcrumbs. At about $20... View all feedback.
Great service and eat! my man and I went there to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. we have the crab pull and snuggle for beginners, both were awesome. I was very impressed by the mushes, as they give you a bit. I ordered the rubber suit for my escape, which was really good. comes with sausages, garnels and tilapia, each weber was seasoned to perfection. my man ordered the crab legs and sirloin entree. the whole food was really great and the waiter was great!
This place is as close to New Orleans cuisine as North Carolinians are going to get. The General Manager Matt takes great pride in this restaurant. He will go out of his way to make sure your dining experience is the most pleasurable one. I have included photos of my families meals and I would highly recommend for starters the Crawfish nachos. The food was delicious and plated delightfully. When you visit this establishment make sure you ask for Josh as your waiter as he is an excellent server and attends to your every need. Love this place and will return frequently.
My husband and I were really looking forward to trying NOLA Seafood Steakhouse as we are huge seafood fans. That said, our expectations for seafood is also very high, especially when the prices are high. We were greeted warmly when we entered. Our server was nice and attended to us regularly, but lacked knowledge of the menu. We asked for oysters Rockefeller (6-piece) as our appetizer and she asked us if we wanted them steamed or raw a few times. We reiterated to her that they are baked. I ordered the paella; my husband ordered the po 'boy; my father-in-law ordered the crab etouffee; and my mother-in-law got one of the steak options. Everything came out hot, but everything just tasted okay. The oysters were extremely cheesy and the oysters themselves were not the freshest. I took one bite from the salad and stopped because I did not think it was good at all. The paella I ordered was very heavily sauced and most items in the dish tasted like that same sauce. Additional, the seafood itself did not carry the weight of the dish either. My husband 's response to his entree was the food is overpriced for the value and quality. When I asked my father and mother-in-law how the crab etoufee/steak was, they responded it 's okay. I think it 's worth giving NOLA a try as every dish is different and everyone 's expectation is as well. However, I do think for the price the customer is paying, the quality is the most important aspect. I hope to give NOLA a chance as their team is figuring out the menu and the items on it.

The real reason for the 3 star, is the food. The food is tasty but not impressive for the price point. The crab meat tasted old and my lobster was like chewing on a car tire. Lunch review: Shrimp Gumbo is a must order and the lunch cup is a good serving. Ordered the Nacho 's with crawfish but the chips are more like fried wrap wedges; the crawfish was cooked nicely. The fired oysters were better then most other places local but could have been better with about 20 seconds less fryer time. Pros. Great customer service, the dishes we had were good but not Wow Cons: Pricey even for lunch and lighter batter and shorter frying time would put this place on top. Added pics of the menu and I encourage you to take a look. We look forward to visiting for dinner soon.
