**Dining Experience at Hyperion: A Mixed Bag**
Hyperion offers an intriguing dining experience, with a diverse menu boasting impressive dishes like the double cheeseburger and deep-fried mushrooms, which have garnered high praise. While many have enjoyed the extensive variety, including Southern favorites and daily specials, service experiences vary widely. Some diners report attentive and friendly service, while others faced prolonged waits and communication issues. Although the atmosphere can be lively, it might not suit everyone, particularly after dark. Overall, while the food is a highlight, potential patrons are advised to weigh the service inconsistencies before deciding to dine here.

The food was exceptional! I ordered the double cheeseburger, and my wife chose the Jesse James burger, and both were amazing. The deep-fried mushrooms were a standout; I highly recommend them, as well as the onion petals! The service was excellent, too. Plus, they have happy hour drink specials every day. Overall, I rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5! View all feedback.
What Kevin Page dislikes about Hyperion:
When I called the restaurant to discuss the issue with the manager, I spoke to a young woman whose voice was barely audible. She seemed to indicate that a shift manager would return my call, but I haven't heard back from anyone, nor do I expect to. The situation could have been easily resolved if they hadn't charged them for their meals. I won't be dining there again. Unless you're willing to spend a lot of money and... View all feedback.

Didn't realize that smoking in a restaurant was still allowed. We had to shower to get rid of the smell. Waitress did a great job! Would definitely recommend take out.
We were promptly served, with our drink and appetizer orders—fried pickles—being taken right away. The pickles arrived quickly and were absolutely delicious. The woman in our party ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich without paprika, along with a side of fries, while I opted for the club sandwich with onion rings. Our food was served in a timely manner, hot, and exactly as we ordered. However, after a few bites of her sandwich, my companion noticed a paprika flavor, despite it not being listed as an ingredient. That unfortunate discovery ended her meal prematurely. I found my club sandwich to be good, though it could have used a bit more meat; still, I enjoyed it, along with the onion rings. Our server was very considerate and offered a small reduction on our meal due to my wife not finishing her sandwich, which I appreciated since we didn’t even ask. Overall, we were satisfied with our first visit and plan to return to try their hamburgers or other menu items. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars, but the presence of cigarette smoke and the issue with my wife’s sandwich kept me from doing so.
Wow! The food and drinks at this place are truly exceptional. As a chef myself, I have to say it's one of my favorite spots. The quality of both the food and the beverages is always a perfect 10/10!
The food was excellent! We visited for lunch on a commemorative day and there was a bit of a wait, but it was well worth it. As a former smoker, I found the smoke odor somewhat bothersome, though it wasn't too intense. I had the most amazing patty melt I've ever tasted, and my husband enjoyed a delicious rib basket special. The prices were very reasonable, the staff was friendly, and the service was great.
They have an impressive selection of appetizers, sandwiches, steaks, and various entrees, including oysters, shrimp, and a range of pasta dishes. They also serve a delightful all-day breakfast menu. The ribeye steak I tried was a superb cut, cooked to perfection, and my wife absolutely loved her chicken Philly—it was the best thing she's ever eaten. As for the biscuits and gravy, they tasted just as I had always imagined the perfect Southern biscuits and gravy should taste! The service was fast and incredibly friendly. We felt so welcomed that returning to Hyperion was not just a possibility; it was a definite must! We are so grateful for the recommendation. Hyperion will certainly be a stop for us anytime we are near Greeneville, TN. Kudos to Hyperion—keep up the great work!

Shelby was awesome!! She took great care of us. Food was good, really cool place, FULL MENU! Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
At Hyperion, I tried the biscuits and gravy, but the gravy had the consistency of milk. The menu options seemed decent, but this dish fell flat. Price per person ranged from $10 to $20. Food quality was disappointing (1 star), and the service was below average (2 stars).
Always a great experience. The staff is friendly, the food and drinks are excellent. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The food at Hyperion was excellent. Prices ranged from $10 to $20 per person. I rated the food, service, and atmosphere all 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the wings, catfish, and onion rings.

She seemed to indicate that a shift manager would return my call, but I haven't heard back from anyone, nor do I expect to. The situation could have been easily resolved if they hadn't charged them for their meals. I won't be dining there again. Unless you're willing to spend a lot of money and leave feeling unsatisfied, I recommend looking for a different place.

During our extended weekend getaway, we discovered this bar conveniently located just across the street from our accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, and the food was simply exquisite!
I didn't have a pleasant experience at Hyperion last night. We were served our tea, but that was the extent of the service we received. After waiting for a considerable time, I eventually had to go up to someone to request a menu.

The service was terrible. We had to request menus because the server never brought them to us. Even after asking, she only provided one menu for the two of us. We ordered the sampler platter, but we didn't receive any plates until we asked for them, and again, she only brought us one plate. The platter was cold, and while we were eating, we noticed a cockroach crawling on our food, which was absolutely disgusting. We informed someone about it, and he mentioned that the dry storage area was infested with cockroaches. I will never come back to this restaurant.
I have eaten at this restaurant several times, and I've consistently enjoyed the food, which offers more variety than I expected. Be sure to check the blackboards near the entrance for daily specials that may not be on the regular menu. The bartenders are friendly and usually quite busy. I will definitely come back!
