We were driving through town late at night and found this restaurant open. The food was amazing. If we had been staying closer, I would have definitely gone back for more. View all feedback.
What Chloe Price doesn't like about Carey's Fish Shop:
Every time I went here before the owner was there and the fish supper was the bast in the area.lat couple of times since it's changed hands, the owner was not there and the portions were very much smaller, the menu was too, the quality was not good at all. Soggy chips and soggy batter, small fish fillet, a very average offering from what was once a great fish and.chip shop. View all feedback.
Amazing food, a charming, clean, and welcoming chipper located in the center of Greencastle. I highly recommend this place!
We just ambled in ordered fish suppers and dander Ed back and really enjoyed. Good quality fish and good chipshop chips
The fish and chips at this restaurant were the worst I have ever had. The fish was greasy and the chips were below average, as shown in the pictures. They were not served in a box like I had received before. My daughter's chicken bites had chicken pulp in them. The girl managing the shop on the evening of July 24th, 2017 was extremely rude. When I asked if they accepted debit cards, she abruptly said no. When I asked about the allowance on sterling, she was also very abrupt. The worst part was when my daughter, who has a speech problem, was given a nod of the head instead of being allowed to order. When she started to speak, the girl interrupted her to take another order. This rudeness was completely uncalled for. It is disappointing that a business in such a beautiful setting with potential could have staff who are unable to interact with customers and serve subpar food. I will never return, as the girl's attitude was unacceptable.
The title 'Fish Shop ' doesn 't do justice to this place because it is in a league of its own in terms of the fish it serves up, the quality of service and the pleasant decor. Situated in one of the most picturesque fishing villages on this island Carey 's Fish Shop is a legend in its own right, relying on locally caught species of the best fish in the Atlantic Ocean. We both had haddock served up with a beautiful salad with really tasty coleslaw accompanied by home-baked wheaten bread and good qualify butter. Crystal clear water was freely available in a jug with ice cubes and condiments were well filled and clean. Top marks goes to this landmark which is always busy but not too busy to welcome the inquisitive who may be going there for the first time. Oh, my the way it is frequented by famous people on a regular basis from playwrights to politicians to architects! Skipped the chips but could see from other tables they are hand-cut, freshly made and nicely presented. However the wheaten bread gave me the satisfactions that I was really addressing my weight problem! ,
Fish portion was half the size of other chipys. Chips aren't fresh cut chips and the oil didn't taste so good. No effort put in at all.
