Hoffman's Chocolates - Greenacres
Hoffman's Chocolates
Description
Hoffman's Chocolates, once a beloved destination for holiday festivities, faces mixed reviews as patrons express disappointment over the recent changes. While the delicious chocolates continue to be a highlight, soaring prices and a lack of seasonal decor have marred the experience. Many long for the magical Winter Wonderland, which has reportedly been absent for years, leaving families feeling misled by marketing tactics. Despite some positive sentiments regarding ice cream and friendly service, the overall atmosphere echoes a shift from a charming local shop to a corporate entity, prompting nostalgia for the festive spirit of holidays past.

What a disappointment! I remember they had a change in ownership, but today’s experience was shocking. I ordered chocolate-covered strawberries and went to pick them up, only to find that they couldn’t locate my order or even my name on the list! I had to show them the charge on Apple Pay to prove I had placed an order. The strawberries themselves were underwhelming; they were just plain chocolate-covered ones, without any decoration. This certainly wasn’t an appealing Valentine’s Day gift. They had removed the green leafy stems, and when I got home, I noticed the box felt unusually light. I weighed it and found it was only 12 ounces instead of the 16 I had ordered. I had also hoped to pick up some assorted candies, which they usually have plenty of, but the shelves were nearly empty, especially for Valentine’s Day! I wanted to grab a bag of chocolate hearts, but the employees looked overwhelmed and distracted by all the customers. I felt bad for them, so I decided not to add to their stress and left the bag behind when I walked out. Will I return? Not so sure.
A negative turn around from private ownership! It feels corporate run. Yes, the chocolate is still good, but the prices are CRAZY! $5 for one piece of chocolate bark. Wow! I went for some Hannukah chocolate and it was a really sad display. Plus, they had NO Hannukah wrapping paper or gift bags. Christmas only! Pretty insulting.
