Sam Leons 2 - Green Meadows

I found myself hungry for Mexican food at 8 am. I found that this place was open and that serves chilaquiles. I have heard people say they have great tamales and carnitas, but never tried it before. Place was great. Chilaquiles rojos, served with beans and rice and choice of eggs on top were delectable and abundant! I now want to go to try the rest of the menu. This is a gem! Great service and food!

Authentic, fast, and delicious! Personally, it's my favorite spot in South Omaha for authentic Mexican street tacos. I love their Al Pastor!

This is what I pulled out of one of my beef burritos it's supposed to have been pork carnitas looks like a lung and refused to replace it and told me it was a pork rind .BS Even waited while they put my order together.Eck

Tamales are right on! Lots of meat and large. Masa was fluffy I would come back for those. Very friendly staff and cute and clean place. Otherwise prepare for a grease fest. We got green salsa and red and 2 bags of flour chips. Green salsa tastes like it's right out of the can. Red is fresh and not spicy. A good all around salsa tastes the same as jacobos. Flour chips are good but greasy. We tried pork chili dip and it is floating in grease. I would not eat that again. Chicken enchilada was ok good flavor I just don't really like enchilada sauce and it was smothered in it and didn't appear to have any cheese. Chili relleno had good flavor but we took the food to go and by the time we got home the outside was soggy. Delicious pepper and cheese though. My husband had 2 Beef tacos with fried shells. My husband said they were good but not over the top good. He would eat them again but not make a special trip. All in all eat the tamales. We took a dozen home and they are great. I'm coming back for those.

Went to Sam's this morning for the first time in a while since Jacobos was closed. Bought a couple lbs of masa preparada to make some tamales. Masa was great but more on the salty side. Maybe I'm just not used to their masa, but we did find it salty to be honest. We also got some menudo and that was great.
