Great new place food is excellent and between Ally and Sara I don't think you can find more beautiful woman in omaha. Great service and great food makes for the best new place in town! View all feedback.
What stevenrealife doesn't like about Pico:
The chicken was good. The atmosphere was miserable. You eat in sort of a food court. You order at the window of Big Mammas but eat around the corner in front of a bar. People were so loud and obnoxious we could not enjoy our food. The floor is concrete, and sound reverberates. We won’t go back. View all feedback.
Outstanding food. Took a little long for our meal but I'm sure that it was prepared fresh and well worth the wait. We had the catfish and perch. The fried cauliflower bites were excellent. Not sure about the other sides but the macaroni and cheese was the best we've ever had. Fresh lemonade was a little pricey but legit
Have not been to BIG MAMA'S since the old site but managed to drop in this time to the new location in the astounding HIGHLANDER complex, an innovative community hub for this growing Omaha neighbourhood. Sadly Ms Barron had left us in 2018 but I was priviledged to briefly meet and chat with her daughter, Gladys Harrison, who has brought her mother's idea of continued community service to fruition. I shall plan my next trip for (HOPEFULLY) better weather and more time to devour some more fried chicken and the always heavenly SWEET POTATO PIE ICE CREAM!!!
First off, when pulling up, there is no signage, its in an industrial-looking building on the second floor. It is almost like a co-op but for resturants. None the less, the food was incredible and the staff was AMAZING! Been wanting to stop every time we pass through town and now we finally had the chance!
I've been to this restaurant over two dozen times prior to and during the pandemic. Overall the food is pretty good. The tacos, nachos and other menu items hit the spot and reasonably priced. The two cooks are on point and the former cashier bartender was great at her job. However, I am concerned about this business survival during the pandemic. A lot of the contributing factors of their potential downfall might be Pico's own fault. For starters, the lack of safety protocols for COVID-19 is suspect at best since none of the employees wear facial covering or masks. The current bartender cashier handle beverages, food packaging without masks, gloves or even bother to wash her hands. On 6 or 7 different occasions, I've been to this place and the current bartender cashier was not present to take my order. Mind you not for just for a few minutes but more like 10-25 minutes absent. Straight ghost! To make matters more difficult, the cook speaks very little English and he was not able to take my order. Not his fault since that isn't his job function. Plus, the emptiness of this spot, underlying concerns and poor choice of profane music is a huge turnoff. Plus, don't bother with call in takeout orders since they don't answer the phone. It is truly sad and unfortunate to see a place shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly.
