Chifanla Chinese Take Away

I typically don't write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. The chicken balls were greasy, the food was overcooked, the rice was clumped together, and the prawn crackers were overpriced at £2.80 for just 6 crackers. I had high hopes for this Chinese restaurant due to its higher prices, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. I will not be returning.

When they originally opened up the food was the best in the area for quality and flavour. Sadly now the quality has hit what I believe as rock bottom. Weve just had bland chicken curry which was a few bits of chicken and more mushroom in a pale yellow sauce tasting just slightly of tumeric. Sweet n sour chicken balls which were soft and chewy with a orangy coloured tasteless sauce. Spare ribs in a plumb sauce, cookes to death like pulled pork with bones, again if i wasnt aware it was pumb sauce I would have never guessed as tastless. Rice ok as was plain chow main. Dodgy chips though and 3 portions not 1 as we ordered but not eaten. Proprietor please note the following as it may help your business as it looks like your struggling for, or will be for business: Be unique in the area and stand out from the rest. Provide quality, flavoursome food to be proud of which tastes as you would expect it to. Curry of actual curry and not wishy washy blandness, sweet n sour which gives you that lip smacking contrasting hit etc etc. If you need to charge more then i believe that your dwindling customer base would accept it in the knowledge that they are getting a quality product every time which exceeds expectations. Your buisness would thrive and your ratings would multiply accordingly. This is the last time you will have our custom for the timebeing as we are quite rightly dissapointed and being frank, we really let down. Chifanla, no thank you anymore. Colin J.

I believe this restaurant is now under new management and is now called Happy Family. I placed my order online, paid with a credit card, and it arrived within 30 to 40 minutes. Everything we ordered was excellent. We usually go to other Chinese takeaways in Caister on Sea, but we will definitely be coming back to this one in the future. I highly recommend it. I was surprised by the 10p bag charge, the £1.20 delivery fee (which was higher than expected as we were closer than their stated mileage), and the 50p service charge on top of paying over £30. However, these additional charges did not ruin our enjoyment of the delicious meal.

Not a regular at takeaways but my partner wanted a Chinese so said I would choose mine from their English menu. Thought a safe choice was plain omelette chips. The omelette was delivered folded in a lump and sat in grease. It was also mostly grey in colour. Needless to say I didn't consider it safe to eat and it went in the bin. Definitely won't be using here again

My first time ordering from here, and my last. Order was short one item and what we did have was truly awful. Everything had a strong 5 spice aftertaste and nothing else. I have no personal reason to say this, it was disgusting.
