I intended to eat at Owd Nels, but it was too busy, so I decided to head home. Instead, I went to the White Bull in Eccleston, but it was packed and the beer garden was closed, so I ended up at the Black Bull. Our two dogs were warmly welcomed there. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, making the ordering process a breeze. I tried the chili chicken, burritos, and two club sandwiches, and everything was abso... View all feedback.
In this pretty little village, which went to lunch here, he stopped. the employee was very cordial to help us. they had a board with specialties along with a menu. Although the pub was empty of people, we really enjoyed our lunch, as it was delicious and was very good for what we had. try the cheese afteros as magnificent, charging cheese salsa sauce. chicken monkeys were delicious as many chickens were in them and the chips were really good. credit to the pub.
Called in for food as house hunting in the area. Very warm welcome from the staff. Big open plan pub but yet cosy. Drinks cold and refreshing and food hot and tasty, couldn't ask for more.
Just moved up this way and like to call in for a pint at the weekends! Very dog friendly and the Staff are very obliging, not had a meal yet but they do look very good. Nice choice beers. My only criticism is the beer garden at the rear of the pub could do with some tidying up and some grass cutting and nice plant pots around would make it more respectable and if it was I would have given full marks.
Great food at great price also dog friendly Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Now serving food! New management has brought this pub back to life at last! I had salt and pepper chicken sizzler (set smoke alarm off lol which was delicious! Only thing I wasn't keen on was oven chips(which keeps the prices down but I would pay more for home cooked chips or skin in fries. Usual pub type menu most dishes a bargain at £7.95. I like real ales and they had 3 on tap(Wainwright's, Doombar and Black sheep. I had black sheep and it was a decent pint and just over £3 a pint. I would definitely now recommend this place, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere has definitely improved, also becoming more popular again. Will definitely be going again!
