What Kim H doesn't like about Kiowa Kitchen:
The restaurant is permanently closed. I drove there only to find it shut down, so I wouldn't recommend wasting your time visiting. It's disappointing, especially since it had the highest Yelp rating. View all feedback.
Was very busy, took a while to get our food. But the food was good! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Catfish
No flavor slow service Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
The food is not bad American style Mexican with not much variety, but overpriced especially considering the inexpensiveness of the ingredients. They charge extra to use a card and the prices keep going up. The upkeep of the restaurant itself is not great. The carpet in the place is a shame in a place where people eat.
Terrible Service. Walked in, hostess said she didn't have any open tables and she didn't know how long the wait would be. We watched 2 tables of people leave. Hostess cleaned the tables and never sat us. Meanwhile the cashier had her head on the counter and just started at us. 15 min later we left.
The food here is NOT Mexican, and it is not even Tex-Mex. At best, is a wierd, unspiced, very bland, mid-american version of Tex-Mex. There was not a Latino diner in the place, and the only people I saw in the kitchen were white. To add insult to injury, the meal was priced too high, it took us an hour after we ordered to be served, and they had no Mexican hot sauce to give the food any flavor. To be fair, I should have been forwarned by the inappropriate name of the place, and by the fact that most every diner was an older white person, (as am am I). I however hail from a town with lots of good, authentic Mexican food. The only plus is that we had a good waiter who did his best with what he had to work with.
