YUM! Best fried chicken we have ever had in our lives. 100% recommend this and the cornbread it comes with. Staff are super friendly. We will definitely be back. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Prairie Whale:
Overall, my experience at The Blue Fish Escape was great, but there were a few downsides. The center of the restaurant had a bit of a draft, which affected the atmosphere. I asked for rolls or bread but was directed to order the special $8 bread, which turned out to be quite good. However, I was surprised to see a $2 kitchen service fee added to the bill without prior notice. It seems a bit excessive, especially cons... View all feedback.
Food and drinks were tasty. Undisclosed 3% kitchen service fee, kitchen service fee applied to bar drinks, double taxed alcohol and inaccurate printed-on-receipt tip calculator spoiled our night out. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
During a pass through this area, I stopped in for light fare. The food was very good and the service exceptional. It is worth the trip. You will enjoy the food, friendliness and atmosphere. Restaurant was lively on a Friday night. Unfortunately service was lacking given waitstaff was not well prepared forgot to give us menus, and lacked knowledge of the drink and food menu when asked questions. The poor level of preparation for the waitstaff unfortunately did not match the tone the restaurant was trying to set. The cheeseburger was okay and basic while the brick chicken was moist and full of flavor. The added undisclosed surcharges on the bill were not aligned well with the service and felt highly concealed.
The Southern fried chicken and cornbread was amazing served with fresh arugula greens. We shared a green bean salad which was delicious and French fries, which were some of the best I’ve ever had. The old fashion cocktail was also a winner. Love this restaurant. We sat outside on the lawn; I recommend bringing insect repellant. Service: Dine in
We really enjoyed the Prairie Whale. Started with cold cucumber soup and a main course of a pork stall served with roasted potatoes, peaches, veal, blueberries and fresh acid cream. Fun atmosphere last night with a live band playing an eclectic jug band style jazz. Very recommended!
