Contribute Feedback What Kim King likes about Briarpatch Food Co-op:
I love this store. Nothing but excellent products, lots of knowledgeable, helpful staff everywhere. Members can volunteer for many local nonprofits and earn significant discounts at the Patch, which also makes generous donations to a different local nonprofit organization every month. Shopping here isn't cheap, but you definitely get the quality that you pay for while supporting the larger community. Great deli/coffe... View all feedback.
What Nina Gonçalves doesn't like about Briarpatch Food Co-op:
Traveling through and the employees were very nice and helpful. The prices were quite high compared to our similar stores in Chico. Most items were 30-35% higher than what we are paying in the valley. It seems the store primarily is there for those with healthy incomes or student's parents are paying the bills. View all feedback.
Excellent quality products sources locally and friendly staff who care. It's more expensive, but you're getting quality and supporting your local community
The restaurant is far too small now that it's completed. They also removed the native plant garden to make way for a parking lot, which makes all their claims about caring for the environment seem completely insincere. I can't stand how crowded it gets, but it's the only co-op in town. The area used to be filled with meadows and wildflowers, which were truly beautiful. Unfortunately, the county has ruined that and continues to overdevelop, adding large office buildings, many of which sit empty. The traffic is a nightmare. There's a lot of hypocrisy here, but there's really no other place like it. When you see their "we care about our planet" slogans, don't hesitate to roll your eyes.
The restaurant feels cramped, making it difficult to truly enjoy the experience. The prices are too high for me to consider coming back. The overall atmosphere seems scattered and lacks focus. Unfortunately, I’ve been disappointed here on multiple occasions. Additionally, there’s an excessive use of plastic, which suggests a lack of awareness regarding environmental issues.
The restaurant offers a great selection of organic products, and the service was excellent, with thorough answers to all our questions. However, I didn’t find the virtual ordering system for takeout to my liking.
We were told that you have the best pasties town. But we were under the impression you were a restaurant instead of a market. Not a big problem but...
