While this restaurant is not fully vegan, they are able to accommodate vegetarian requests for almost all dishes. I ordered Edamame and Veg Lo Mien with Tofu, and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of meat options available in the terminal. This place was a great discovery for those seeking healthier dining options. View all feedback.
What bvankampen doesn't like about Dfw Ling Louie's Ta:
The restaurant does not have tofu listed as a protein option on the menu, but both the hostess and server confirmed that it can be substituted in any dish. I found the pad thai to taste strange, but my wife enjoyed the cashew stir fry. View all feedback.
Our waiter said today that everything on the menu can be made vegan, except for the burger!
This is barely passable as vegan options (or even vegetarian for that matter). Non-meat protein options are not even listed on the menu but the server told me I could order tofu. The dish came with large chunks of tofu but they didn 't even seem to be stirfried… In fact, a few pieces were still cool in the middle. The rice, sauce, and veggies were quite good and so was the service...but, overall, the tofu blobs were a turnoff.
The DFW branch of the Ling Louie's chain is less vegan friendly than some of its non airport cousins, but probably is the best veg option in Terminal A (though not the best at DFW; that honor goes to Izmir in Terminal D). Note: The menu doesn't reveal this, but my server kindly informed me that most of their sauces contain fish/oyster sauce, unfortunately, including the peanut sauce. On my visit, however, they were kind enough to substitute a simple soy sauce. The taste wasn't anything to write home about, but it was a perfectly acceptable vegan airport meal and i was grateful for their willingness to accommodate my dietary needs. If you have a long layover at DFW, i'd suggest taking the train over to Terminal D to eat at Izmir (near gate D11) instead, but L L's will do fine in a pinch just ask about animal products in the sauces.
The waitress had no problem accommodating my request to make my dish vegan with veggies and tofu. I would have liked more tofu and thinner noodles, as opposed to the thick kind commonly found in American Chinese restaurants. However, the meal was tasty and suitable for airport food. I would definitely return for a decent vegan meal during a long layover. The service was also good.
I tried the delicious vegan dish at this restaurant, which included tofu, even though it wasn't listed on the menu. The white rice was typical, but you could also choose brown rice. This review has been updated as of August 11, 2022.
