Had dinner at the Buxton on a Wednesday evening, and they were not at all busy. There was lots of wait staff and we were the only customers most of the evening, so service was excellent. Our waitress, Taylor, was excellent. She was very helpful in explaining the menu and checked on us frequently, but didn't burden us. My wife's steak was very good, not excellent, but very good. What User doesn't like about The Buxton Inn:
"We ordered from a menu with four different options. The salad, soup, and entrée were all served at the same time. Unfortunately, the chicken that was added to the pasta was tough and inedible. The restaurant has mixed up our dishes and the lemonade as well. I definitely won't be returning here.".
The daily brunch of the vater was a great disappointment. it took an hour to get our food. I ask our server if they could prepare a snack. she brought us a cheese plate while we waited another 20 minutes for our brunch meal. I was notified that the kitchen from the chicken dish I ordered 50 minutes to wait in the hour. instead I ordered a strawberry pecan salad with huh. that huh was so hard that I couldn't cut it in. I wouldn't recommend it. I feel really bad for the waiting staff who were obviously students.
After waiting on our food order for about 30 minutes, I asked the waitress what was the status of our food. She came back and stated it would be just a few minutes. After waiting another 10 minutes, I then flagged down the hostess to ask the same thing explaining we needed to be somewhere in 25 minutes. Some cheese and crackers were brought out to enjoy while we waited. Finally a manager came out, said she knew about the situation and that our food was not going to be done (this is now an hour after placing the order). She did comp our drinks and brought out more cheese crackers, some salads and fruit to take with us. So she did right by us but sadly I cannot recommend the Buxton Inn to anyone else at this point. It was Father's Day but it was not that busy. I have no idea what happened in the kitchen but it was very disappointing.
Way too expensive for the quantity of options. And the quality of food was not good salmon flavor was off, chicken over cooked, breakfast frittata pasty mix of pastry to egg veggies was way off, etc. Caesar salad was the only item that our party of 5 agreed tasted good. Overall very disappointed with food. Service, ambiance, etc was wonderful.

We had an excellent dinner. Delicious food and great service. I prefer indoor dining rooms and they were seating in their enclosed heated courtyard. However we really enjoyed our evening.
