While the antique bar and historic atmosphere draw patrons in, the quality of food and service has been inconsistent. Some have enjoyed hearty options like clam chowder and fish dishes, appreciating the generous portions and fair prices. However, issues with stale bread, inattentive service, and fluctuating dish quality have raised concerns. Ultimately, the restaurant still holds potential as a reliable spot for seafood lovers, especially for those seeking a casual atmosphere amid the hustle and bustle of the town.
It's always nice to enjoy a meal, when the service and waitperson, both provide a pleasant experience. The laughing clam. Another suggestion from locals at the visitor center! And yes! Again, I was looking for a place that served up a good tasty bowlof Clam Chowder Soup. This was my second visit to this restaurant, the first visit wasn't such a wonderful experience, but Idecided to give it a second chance and thank goodness, I did, cause my wait person Tina, she was the best! Happy, friendly, attentive, honest, and helpful. I went, after the lunch rush, so I feel like I scored on the experience being more real and Ithoroughly, enjoyed it. This time I ordered, a bowl of clam chowder soup and a half greek salad and found both to be yummy, filling and healthy! So, the only thing I would suggest management do, is make the price of the half greek salad comparable tothe size of a half greek salad. According to the menu, a full greek salad is $10.99, and the half greek salad ended up costingme $8.99, $3 less, only because they use less lettuce. Personally, I think the 1/2 greek salad should be $6.99 which is closeto half the regular price for a full salad. And, if they didn't use less ingredients (feta, onions, olives), then the regularsize salad must look pretty barren, since there is more lettuce in it. But, all in all, I would still return to thisrestaurant, just not order the 1/2 greek salad, until the price was more comparable to its size. The clam chowder is good b/c Ilike hearty dense (comfort food like) soups, especially when its only 40 degrees outside.
We stopped in on our way thru town on a Saturday night. Lots of places were closed. Thankfully this place was open (although they closed at 8 pm). Short wait, but not too busy. Food and service was fabulous. Drinks were strong and cheap! Woulddefinitely come back.
The food was pretty good! We loved the crab shooter and the crab and lobster stuffed mushrooms. My husband said the clam chowder was really good. We also had fried shrimp and fish which was tasty. They give you plenty of food for the money. It was worth the30 minute drive. We will definitely go back!
We stopped here for a quick bite while we were staying in town. Service was really great. They were out of the two things we wanted to order so we got the fish and chips and the fish tacos. Fish tacos were huge I just got two, really glad the servergave that option. While they were good, I was hoping they'd have a little more flavor, perhaps they just needed a little moresauce. I would also request no cheese next time. Husband said the fish and chips were good. He liked the tartar sauce, verygarlicy.
The meal and service were absolutely fantastic. The price point was fair considering the high quality of the food. The restaurant was beautifully clean and provided a lovely atmosphere. This is a favorite spot for our family.
