The new restaurant is a total disappointment. The tacos are overpriced and served cold, and they only allow you to purchase them in pairs. If you want three tacos, you're out of luck—you'll have to buy four. Additionally, they don't offer bean burritos, which were my favorite when Taco John's was around. By the way, the tacos are priced at 2 for $9.00, which is not a good value at all!
Last year, I gave this restaurant a 5-star review, but this year it only earns a 3. The woman who works there every time we visit really needs to consider retiring or taking a break because she was quite rude. I asked if they had nut rolls, which we've enjoyed every year, and the gentleman told me they only have Paydays. I politely declined and thanked him, but she interjected with, "Why would I need to carry both? I only carry Paydays." Anyone who has tried a nut roll knows there's a significant difference in flavor between the two candy bars. Unfortunately, it seems we've reached a point where we need to look for a new place to stop on our yearly trips, as the service here, as well as at Taco John’s, has dropped from a perfect 10 to a 2.
Let me start with the guy with the ponytail who was ringing up my items while playing some kid's card game with another customer. He ended up shouting because he lost and refused to finish ringing me up. He had a complete meltdown right there on the floor, throwing a tantrum like a child. I just walked out, not even sure if I paid for my gas; the guy seemed to be in another world. Then there was the Taco John's section. Every single employee seemed to have an IQ barely scraping 72! Their hair was greasy, and their responses were completely vacant. It really felt like I had wandered into a bizarre circus.
Now with larger seating, larger new restrooms, larger selection of convenience items this place seems more modern and family friendly than it ever appeared to me in the past.
