Better Than Fred's - Grande Prairie

I love this bar restaurant every time I come, I have such a great time. Today wasn't one of those days, I had a waitress red hair that was honest was really rude she was more committed to her larger tables. we waited 50 minutes before they came to talk to us to get bill. we saw them go to 4 other tables 3 sets of times, before even looking. we ordered starters spinat and gold rush boneless wings. the spinach had a huge hair in it. the waitress never talked to us about anything. I also wanted to order the dinner and fed so I went to get pool balls and pay for bill and the bartender was so over rude it was disgusting, black haare rolled his eyes and did not even see me wondering if I needed anything. When I asked about my card, he rejected me against him and gave me the rude attitude, those two employees I've never met before I ruined my experience. I'm tipping well and I have a great time here, but today I didn't even pay attention to myself, such a shame.

The decor was nice and the food was a good quantity for the value. The meals all arrived together and everything was perfect.

Went for the amazing show July Talk & good eats for my friend birthday. I had an amazing time as always at Fred's! Tried the JAR-BBQ and it was yummy! Love the bar it's a lifeline to the GP music scene their owner John really puts his heart and soul into it.

If you enjoy playing pool this is the #1 spot in town especially if your friends enjoy playing pool as well. Eight tables, which are re-clothed every fall and maintained when needed all year. The tables see a lot of use so as the season goes, so goes the condition but overall they are some of the best maintained in town. I am a regular, at times all most daily customer for many years.Owner is on site most days and the staff is generally pretty good and friendly enough to be on a first name basis with regular customers. I have been here for breakfast, lunch, supper, and appetizers and without complaint. The food is BBQ focused and the menu stays fairly constant. Food is pretty good all around, try the mac & cheese wedges. Sometimes they can get a bit carried away with a greasy hamburger (drenched bun) but aside from that no complaints. Full service bar with about ten beers on tap. Often has live bands, with cover charge or tickets. Aside from a pool hall, entertainment venue, BBQ pit, it's mainly a sports bar. Lots of screens hosting the main nightly sports draws. Lots of seating, however it is a very busy spot, especially in the evenings so it pays to get there early. On street parking and lot parking can get a bit congested when busy.Participates in the bar none program, so after 7:00 you need to have your id scanned for entry/re-entry.New servers rotate through regularly so service can be spotty at times, particularly if it is busy but they also have a core of long time employees, in the kitchen and on the floor which balances it out. The owner is actively involved on site, so anything can be easily resolved if there is a problem.

This quaint pub has it all!! Great food, often live music, more than one pool table and smiling friendly service!! The drinks are affordable and on time!
