My spouse and I enjoy the home style meals and home made pizzas from Mr J's. Never been disappointed with quantity sizes (portions are med to lg) for most meals. Great atmosphere and the staff there have always made us feel welcomed. Will we go back.? well of course we will! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mr J's Roadhouse:
I work in Lively and used to enjoy the chicken fingers on occasion. Unfortunately, the last three times I have ordered the chicken fingers, they were severely undercooked. They also smelled strangely of fish...almost as if the chicken had gone bad. Not recommended. View all feedback.
My Wife and I got back late to Lively from Toronto and found Mr.J's was still open. We had a nice dinner at the back portion of the restaurant and chatted with the staff. The bar next door Duke's is owned by the same owner so we were able to get a pitcher of Rickard's Red Draft after a long trip. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere and we were hungry having skipped late lunch.

Good food, generous portions but old restaurant. Friendly staff. Small operation with bar on one end, pizza take out in middle then restaurant on other end.

This is your typical pub fare. The food is always excellent and the barkeeps are second to none. We have a weekly dinner date with friends at the pub, Duke's, which is the pub part of Mr. J's.
