We started off with Tequila and everything got better from there, lol! Our welcome drink was a Mango Margarita served on the rocks, it was excellent. When cherry Tequilla is added, it is even better. Two soups are offered as appetizers as a huge buffet with many selections. Tortilla soup and Stone soup were both excellent. What User doesn't like about Tequila Restaurant:
Two soups are offered as appetizers as a huge buffet with many selections. Tortilla soup and Stone soup were both excellent. Our main courses were beef and chicken fajitas exactly how they should be prepared. Dessert was a collage of cakes and squares presented on a dessert buffet. The Marachi band and sombreros are lots of fun and provide a great photo op as a memory. This restaurant is not really busy as it is away from the main areas of the resort. I definitely recommend taking the time to eat here.
We visited GBP Mayan Riviera during the first couple weeks of November 2015 and ate at the Tequila restaurant on November 10th. The food was all relatively good; however, I find the appetizer and dessert buffet area is not kept very clean or appealing looking - Everything tastes good, but there is no-one obviously keeping things looking good and serving the el pastor, etc. I'm sure it's just a matter of there not being quite enough staff on, but it's small things like this that make a big difference. The soups were both delicious as was the Red Pipian Chicken and Mixed Fajitas. We were disappointed that the Shrimp Fettuccine was no longer on the menu.
This time it was just ok. I am still not convinced the lamb entree was actually lamb. It was more like a really cheap and rubbery stewing beef. AEntertainment was good though as were the hot stone soup
