My friend had the tenderloin tacos and loved it! I had the sticky chicken and even though it's considered an appetizer, it was filling for me. The chicken was seasoned with a sweet and tangy sauce served with rice and kimchi. The sweet potato fries were delicious! The food here was amazing!! Especially the shareables/appetizers! In order of best tasting appetizers, I recommend the rangoons (best), beer cheese dip (2nd best), and poke wonton nachos (3rd best). The blue skies was a great alcoholic drink as well. Andit?s so helpful that they have pictures of every food with a description of the food and what drinks pair with which foods. Thewaiter even gave me recommendations of where I can take pictures from Instagram.
This restaurant is fantastic, but be aware that the bill can accumulate quickly if you indulge in a few of their specialty drinks. They are definitely worth trying, so don't hesitate to sample a couple. While the food selection is somewhat limited, they offer digital menus that display pictures of all the options, which I really appreciate. I've been to Rockwell's several times over the years, and they've consistently served outstanding food and tasty drinks. It does get quite busy, and they don't take reservations, so it's best to plan ahead and try to arrive before the rush, or be ready for a wait.
What can I say about this all-time favorite spot? It has a really cool and trendy vibe. The food is diverse and delicious. The entire staff is amazing; Adam, Mike, Joe, and others make you feel right at home. There's free parking available, and the open deck on the second floor at the back is a great touch. Don't miss out on the 40% off wine every Monday night, accompanied by the fantastic John Shea Trio. You definitely need to check this place out!
The sticky chicken fried rice is delicious and packed with flavor, but the roasted chicken was rather bland and overpriced for what it offers. However, the drinks were quite good!
Probably my favorite of the places we visited in Grand Rapids this week in regards to food/flavor. We had originally selected the location for it's patio but it was closed for the evening when we arrived. The menu isn't huge, definitely I think wouldfall under pub food with a flair? My husband and I ended up ordering several Appetizers and sushi rolls to split and it wasamazing! We had the baked Goat cheese dip, shrimp miso Rangoon, the TNT roll and the dynamite roll. Everything was veryflavorful and filling. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. Also, the mixed sangria was so good! Definitely try it out!
