I ordered bone-in wings with buffalo sauce which had no breading. They were delicious and meaty with nothing to complain about. My wife had a double burger with a gluten-free bun and she said it was fantastic! The fries were beer-battered with a delicious seasoning, but unfortunately, we had to pass on them as the batter contained gluten. The staff was friendly and attentive. What Jayson Hauck doesn't like about Hopcat:
this place is unfortunately not as good as before, but that was years ago, so I am not surprised that it is worse. the inner (and outside) was unclean, the service was not present and even the eating was terrible. they have many young employees and they seem quite uninterested in the work. a waiter even counted his tips right in front of me, which was a bit clumsy. This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I sat outdoors with friends and we ordered the cucumber cooler, the Cowboy DBL burger, and the BBQ chicken Cobb salad. I was unsure about the cooler at first, but it turned out to be delicious. The burger had a nice spicy kick to it, although I found the bun to be a bit crunchy. The only downside was that our food took a while to come out, but it was understandable given the size of our party and the busy kitchen. I would definitely return to try other items on their menu.
The service was friendly and there were plenty of interesting options on the menu. They only serve Michigan craft beers, which were all excellent. The blue cheeseburger was delicious.
I adore Hopcat! It's one of my top spots to frequent when I'm in the city. They consistently offer a fantastic variety of beers, allowing me to try something different each visit. Not to mention, their food is simply delicious!
I 've always love Hopcat but I 've never been to Grand Rapids, it was an excellent place to check out! The elote queso dip was cheesy and rich, with nice fresh chips! My friend got their turkey wrap with seasoned fries and it did not disappoint! I orderedthe mac 'n cheese with grilled chicken and was pleasantly surprised by the velvety smooth sauce and perfectly seasoned chicken!They were pretty packed when we arrived, but with open seating at the bar we got our food and drinks quickly!
The food was delicious, the drinks were decent, but the wait was incredibly long. We arrived at 4:45.
