What Joan T doesn't like about Grand Rapids Downtown Market:
The bad is the parking lot and nearby park. It is not this place fault but the homeless people make it feel not comfortable. I parked in the first spot by door if I couldn’t of parked there I would of left.Inside I had the most delicious halibut basket. And enjoyed walking around. There is a community eating area which was ok. View all feedback.
I am NOT a sushi person, but my son ans his friend loved eating here. Very happy with selection and price.Parking: Reasonable cost. Good handicap spots
The sweet potato sushi is the best thing I've ever had. Super quick and inexpensive lunch!Food: 5/5
We eat here as a family every week! Everyone is always friendly and greet us with a smile. Food is ALWAYS delicious. Highly recommend the Viking roll!!!!Vegetarian options: They have a veggie rollKid-friendliness: Our kids get starter chopsticks and everyone here is always friendly to them.
Tasted excellent. Zero complaints. Delivered very quickly, nice amount of soy sauce.
This one star review does not reflect the businesses inside of the market. They deserve at least a 4 star. I am leaving a one star due to the obnoxious, rude interaction my family had with the administrative asst. We went in for dinner and sat down to eat about 7:30. The market was scheduled to close at 8. The food was good and the deserts were fantastic but about 5 minutes to 8 while eating desert, we were told they would be closing soon and would we please make sure to take care of our table. We happily agreed. At 8 we were finishing up when the admin asst., in the most dramatic, rudist way possible told us to make our way out. We did and on the way out, I told him that in the future there is a good way and a bad way to say things to customers. His response was how do you want me to say it, slower? We wound up arguing about his **** poor approach and he got more and more antagonistic. We walked out the door and he pushed it shut, pointed and laughed. It was completely unacceptable. We have recommended to friends and others to go there in the past and brought family that was in from out of state when this happened. After this experience, we not only will not go back but recommend to family and friends that they don't either. Downtown Market, do better.
