It was a fine experience I think the thing that kind of lowered it was The music from the TVs were a little loud. But the food was kind of bland. The nachos eventually were good once we got the cheese sauce that came with it. What RODNEY O doesn't like about Boulder Tap House Grand Rapids:
THIS USED TO BE ONE OF THE BEST PLACES IN TOWN TO HAVE LUNCH OR DINNER AND A COUPLE OF BEERS. NOT ANYMORE! BEER PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS AT $7.00 FOR A TAP COMPARED TO EVERY OTHER PLACE IN TOWN. APPLEBEES IS $4.00 DURING HAPPY HOUR AND ABOUT $5.00 DURING REGULAR HOURS, FOREST LAKE IS ABOUT THE SAME PRICE ANYTIME FOR A LARGE BEER. AND THE PRICES FOR THE FOOD HAS OUTPACED THE OTHER PLACES ALSO! ONLINE MENU IS NOT UP TO DA... View all feedback.
I had a decent experience at the restaurant, but there were a couple of drawbacks. The music from the TVs was a bit loud, which affected the ambiance. While the food was mostly bland, the nachos did improve once we got the cheese sauce that accompanied them. However, in my party, we ordered three burgers, and I thought they were quite lacking in seasoning. Even though some burgers came with toppings, eating the meat on its own felt like just having plain cooked beef without any flavor.
Fifteen minutes after we were seated, a waiter came by to take our drink and food orders. Our drinks arrived about 10 minutes later. However, 35 minutes after placing our food order, the waiter returned to inform us that the restaurant was quite busy inside. In the end, our food was served a frustrating 50 minutes after we ordered. We were extremely disappointed with both the service and the quality of the food—it simply didn’t justify the wait. We both agreed that we wouldn’t be returning. A tip for the waitstaff: please make it a point to check in with your tables periodically instead of waiting for 35 minutes to mention that things are busy. There were only three tables seated outside!
This was my second visit, and the staff was incredibly friendly! The food was fantastic! We always pass through Grand Rapids and decided to stop for lunch while camping, and now we've found a go-to spot!
Nice tP house with my beers on tap. Burgers are great. Fast service.
Great place, good food. The cheese curds are world class. The atmosphere is great for us because we have a toddler and well, he's loud sometimes. It's loud there so, no one notices. My husband loved the pizza and they stopped making it. I love the curds and ipa selection.Littles! Also, the chicken tenders need a little bit of breading. They're a little odd.Kid-friendliness: Great place if you've got littles!
