I ordered a large cone and my wife ordered a medium. To my surprise, the medium was the same size as the large when I compared them side by side. Additionally, the ice cream didn’t even reach the top of the cone. When I mentioned this to the girl at the window, she said that's just how they make them. This wasn't an isolated incident. This charming walk-up drive-thru Dairy Queen in Grand Island, Nebraska is fantastic! The staff is friendly, service is quick, and the shakes are delicious. It's a classic DQ experience!
The place is clean and kosher, mostly focused on ice cream, shakes, and the usual Blizzard offerings. I had been trying to stick to my diet, but when I craved a burger and realized they didn’t offer one, I couldn't help but laugh—it felt like a sign to get back on track! I guess this experience is telling me that I was doing well in my dietary choices. I've been on a bit of a binge since I paused my diet and have been trying lots of foods that I previously avoided, which makes it a bit challenging, especially since I drove all the way from Georgia. It’s been a bit overwhelming, but overall, I think this place is really cool!
Who doesn't love Dairy Queen?!? I wish they served food like the one on Capital.
When I order a chocolate brownie extreme blizzard, it has the right amount of chocolate in it! When I go to the other DQ and order the same blizzard, they give me more vanilla ice cream with a little chocolate sprinkled in. I will always drive across town to this store exclusively!!
