Not onlty was the coffee very good, this coffee shop has a lovely seating area behind it with a fountain and plants. Very relaxing. If its nice out you can lounge in big deck chairs on the sidewalk outside. Good looking scones also for sale View all feedback.
What Lura Powlowski doesn't like about Kokomo's Coffee House:
I wonder if it was because of the time of the day or the season (end of May, which should be the beginning of the traveling season), but Kokomo's offered no baked treats at all. Not a single cookie, scone, or coffee cake. The only thing they had was coffee. Coffee was good but would have loved to have a treat to go with it. View all feedback.
So glad I found you when I passed through Grand Forks early morning, dying for a good cup of coffee after a night of 'wild ' camping. Little did I know that freshly roasted coffee beans were used to make my cappuccino, and was it ever good!! This is definitely my type of coffee house. To get some history about the Doukhobors made it even more special, thank you!
I used to live in the area, but moved to WA state, but everytime I visit a good friend, we end up in Grand Forks and usually go to Kokomo's.The floor plan is spacious with several rooms. In the front is a big open area with windows looking out onto the street. Most people sit in there. If you have a meeting or want something more quiet, you can go to one of the rooms in the back. There is a patio too, which is nice in the spring or fall, but lately too hot to sit outside. This trip, the Owner, Susan, was there by herself, so it was a bit slower than usual. My friend and I had an iced coffee, and were tempted to have a baked good. However, since it was close to lunch, we ordered a sandwich, which is a new thing for Kokomo's. My friend and I had the same sandwich, which was a Mexican Omelet on Toasted Foccacia Bread. It was very tasty, and served with avacado and tomato slices, and home made dressing. Yummy, and filling. The sandwich menu has about 4-5 various types of sandwiches, but I can only review the one we had.We were pleased with the service and friendliness of the owner. We were also impressed that the bathroom was very clean and well kept. I can recommend Kokomo's and will definitely return!
