I go there with friends when I wan to enjoy a good meal with full service. The place itself is beautiful. They have a large terrasse in the back. Some seats are a little less comfortable (the booths have inflated seat cushions that are pretty harsh and bouncy so choose a table with chairs . The service is usually very attentive but the other night we got a young beginner that didn 't come very often. They have a tabl... View all feedback.
What Minh Nguyen doesn't like about Attelier Archibald:
Wanna be fancy gourmet restaurants.. over price for the taste.... quality is there but the taste was nothing amazing.Kid menu is made for fancy foody kid.. if you have a regular kid that like plain pasta with butter or regular well cook salmon.. this is not the place to be.. we ask for plain pasta with butter and they try to make it fancy by adding a handful of ground pepper..Adult barely finish our meal.. fancy plat... Went there for lunch but couldn't even eat the salad I ordered. Tasted awful, way to much vinaigrette. Maybe if the vinaigrette had tasted good, I could have choked it down, but it tasted like pure vinegar. Ate my 6 shrimp on top and sent back a full bowl of salad. Paid $18 plus tax, not worth it.
We had such a wonderful meal tonight I had to write a review. I tried the new appetizer menu (Indian pork quesadillas, just lightly spiced) and my husband had the calmari. Delicious! We are regular customers but haven't been back in a few months because we always ate the same thing... The new menu for the appetizers was perfect. The service was excellent and our server, Sonia, made great recommendations for the main course and wine. So enjoyable to have a server who takes the time to offer thoughtful alternatives (my husband asked for the lasagne but it's no longer available); she made the evening special for us. Thank you, Sonia!
We visited Attelier Archibald on Saturday, September 4th 2016. Why am I specifying the date? Because I want the owner of this restaurant to know what goes on at this establishment when he / she is not there. This was our second time at the restaurant as our kids play in the Granby soccer tournament each year and just like in year's past we get together with some of the other parents and kids for what we hope will be a fun Saturday night dinner which it has always been in the past. The food has always been generally very good, all of the tartares are excellent, the pizzas are very original, burgers, and even decent filet mignon; the menu is solid as a whole. Well this Saturday we arrived around 8:00 pm, and were seated across from a very large group of 20-something "dudes" with their obligatory tattoos and cross fit beards along with their dates who arrived just minutes before we did. Almost from the moment we arrived this table started ordering shots of tequila which is not a problem but what is a problem that each time they were about to take a shot it was proceeded with very loud and aggressive yelling, chanting, and banging on the table. After about the 12th round (I lost count) of tequila shots this table was served by the restaurant staff, things really started to get out of control. The "men" at this table were literally chugging beer out of pitchers, screaming at the top of their lungs and wait for it....they all took their shirts off so they could did some ridiculous whipped cream shooters which was clearly just an excuse for them to take their shirts off. Let me remind you that Attelier Archibald is a restaurant, NOT a nightclub. All of the other clients in the restaurant were in shock and I am certain in disgust of what's they were witnessing as was our table, yet the restaurant staff continued to serve them shooters with dumb grins on their faces. The restaurant cleared out faster than if someone yelled "fire" but still there was no manager or anyone else on the staff who was willing to cut them off, ask them to put their shirts back on or even act like civilized human beings. It was a shocking, disgusting display and I cannot believe none of the restaurant staff found the behaviour unacceptable for a restaurant. Our waitress actually apologized to our table several times but nothing was done, she mentioned the owners were not around because of the long weekend and she looked at us blankly with no answer when we asked where the manager was. We left most of our plates unfinished because the experience was so stressful and the entire evening was so I enjoyable that we paid our bill and left as fast as possible as most other people in the restaurant did. The Management should be ashamed of themselves. We will be back in Granby next year for the soccer tournament and I can't wait to find another restaurant to visit because we will never go back to this resto ever again.
Excellent food and good service. Relatively small meal sizes, elevated prices but appropriate for the food quality and type of restaurant. Clean facility. Very noisy inside, hard to hold a conversation. I would go back only for special occasions, not for a regular meal.
Great food. The Caesar salad with chicken was built up around large, fresh triangles of lettuce, covered in dressing and chicken. Mmmm! The lasagna was served in the cooking container as was the tortellini. Hot and fresh and so delish! Service was strange but it did not leave our server with time to "serve" us. Not her fault. Just the set up.Everyone was friendly, and we had a delightful experience. Value for the money.
