One of the best parts of traveling are unexpected (good) surprises and hidden gems. We didn 't have high expectations because of meh reviews, it 's in a touristy area, and we were literally the only diners (midweek off season). Also to make things even more complicated, we needed gluten-free options for one of our group. Although not listed on any of the GF sites or blogs, we noted an allergy awareness sign in the window and decided to try. One of the best decisions of our trip! The owner recommended the tagine as the best GF option and we ended up all ordering tagines so I can 't speak to anything else on the menu but the tagines we received were falling off the bone fabulous! We love Moroccan food and have had tagines in a lot of Moroccan restaurants in various corners of the world including in Morocco and these were some of the best we 've had. As in, this restaurant will be our first stop if/when we return to Grenada and we will probably eat there twice on that trip (which we almost never do because we love to explore different eats). The service was generally a little 'hands off ' which I interpreted as respectfully not wanting to make us feel rushed or interrupting our experience and appreciated in contrast to the US custom of hovering over the table, nudging you with the check, and the server having to force fake friendliness because they rely on tips rather than living wages. The owner quietly checked in periodically to see if we needed anything and of course did a beautiful traditional pouring of our Moroccan teas (it takes some skill to do it well). The gluten intolerant person in our group had no adverse reactions so that 's a big win too! Maybe other meh/negative reviews are from times of year when things are busy and more heavily touristed? Or maybe the not-tagine items are less amazing? If we return and have a less good experience will absolutely update this review but in the meanwhile, this unassuming little place is staying on our must-stop Grenada list.

The waiter greets you cheerfully and presents the menu. We selected a fatouch and a chicken tajine which were fabulously prepared with sauces found nowhere else. While combined with te du menth done and served the unforgetable old way along with pan Arab. Finished with mouth watering pastry deserts. For those who have frequented North African cuisine this restaurant will be an reminder of those unforgetable flavors must for your visit to Granada. Only one hang up in mid November, they were closed two of the times we tried to dine there. So call before dining in the off season.

Apparently our server was having an off day!! He lacked hospitality and was dragging his feet. I felt he would be suffering an awful cramp every time he tried to smile. The soup was little cold with little seasoning. Couscous was average. Overall, the owner needs to get his staff back to school .. Moroccans are well known for their kindness and warm greetings but not today

Very attractive premises and a promising menu of classic Moroccan dishes. However you get the feeling that this is a very tourist driven restaurant in every way. Food was average. Portions small. Service wasnt good. Not at all welcoming a sort of give us your money and go experience !
