They are the most creative pizza-makers i have ever... read more If you really want to try the best pizza in Italy, don’t hesitate to go to Grammichele and visit Asso D’Oro. They are the most creative pizza-makers i have ever met and their creations will blow your mind. I ll suggest to try something very local, like the Pizza with Grated Pistachio and Ham, or the Pizza alla Norma with Aubergine, Egg and Cheese or even the Pizza with Potatoes and Bacon. They also have a varied selection of the finest meat which they serve in grilled platters (ideal for sharing : pork sausage, chicken, lamb chops and the epic horse fillet. I really suggest you spend in Grammichele at least two nights (the town is amazing by the way! so you have the chance to come here twice and not miss out on the pizza or the BBQ. The staff is friendly, and chatty. They will stop and crack a joke at your table as soon as they have the chance. The owner came also personally to our table to check we were happy with everything, which we really appreciated. In the end we were offered complimentary “grappa della casa” and Amaro del Capo. A delightful experience. Under all aspects. Pity I can’t give 6 stars to Asso d Oro.
