The 12 miles drive on Great River Road from Alton to Grafton is a National Scenic Byway. The terraces and the inside bar hold space for up to 800 people. Fun and crowded on Saturday/Sunday, peaceful with plenty of elbow room Monday to Friday. The river view is unmatched. View all feedback.
What Paige Briana dislikes about The Loading Dock:
We drove FIFTY miles to come here today. All we got was a burger and fries. The burgers were literally cold to the touch. The inside of the burger looked very uncooked. Not even a warm bun or anything at all. The waitress looked extremely over it although it wasn't busy at all and was 12 in the afternoon. I didn't complain about my food because we were there maybe a half hour and left. Extremely disappointing and won... View all feedback.

We didn’t end up eating there because we weren’t aware that we had to go inside to place our order. The service was decent, but the poor server seemed overwhelmed with the amount of people. We did manage to get some drinks and enjoyed listening to the band, though.
It was a nice experience. There was a live band performing on Sunday, which added to the atmosphere. The food selection was rather limited, but it’s a great spot to unwind on a Sunday.
I didn't eat during my visit, so I'm not able to rate the food. However, I came to enjoy the band and have some drinks, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'll definitely return to try the food next time.
We took the bike across on the ferry. Stopped here at The Loading Dock for drinks. Great staff service !!! We will definitely go back for lunch.
Great bar right on the Mississippi River with a small food menu. Shrimp roll was great.
The Loading Dock in Grafton, Illinois, offers a lively riverside dining experience that is perfect for families, couples, and groups alike. Guests appreciate the vibrant atmosphere, complete with cheerful decorations, live music, and ample outdoor seating, including dog-friendly areas. While the service is generally quick and attentive, food quality and pricing have drawn mixed reviews. Some diners enjoyed dishes like fish tacos but noted that others, like chicken tenders, were underwhelming. Despite potential issues, such as pests and occasional food mishaps, many patrons leave with fond memories, making it a recommended spot for a relaxed outing.

Beautiful place for family or friends gathering. They have a market every once a month with boutiques and other things. A must visit.
Ample space for kids to have fun and a great choice for large groups. Parking: Spacious parking lot suitable for all types of vehicles.
Always a good place to hang out and people watch. Prices like everything are a little high but you are in a tourist town.
It is a neat place, there was a live band there that night and they were pretty good! $5.00 draft beers are a little steep I think but the place was clean and the service was good.

Stunning restaurant in the city of Graffon, Illinois, but only known as St Louis The place is cheerful, abundantly arranged parking available opposite the building. There are live music that creates a family vibe. If you do not want to sit in the restaurant all the time, you can bring your dog to a park-like area. There is a lot to see and do along the restaurant location road and even more beyond. I haven't tried any food deals yet, but I wanted to visit again and review this aspect. This place could work well for many scenarios...family time, first dates, take out the children and only time alone;
Great location. Enjoyed the scenery. Service was good. Food was below standard. Had chicken tenders with fries [both were too dry and cold hard to chew]; hubby had chicken salad with chips. Small portion for the price, and the chips were greasy. If we decide to go again, it will be on a full stomach.
Our first time. Great food.. Fish tacos, spinach salad, and catfish fritter. Drinks Miami vice and Bae Breezy... they do not skimp on the liquor. Live band. Wonderful atmosphere. Waitress nice attitude. Kid friendly. Pet friendly . Seeing people with their pooches on the patio made me smile. And think of my dog Codie Girl who passed last month on the 18th.
We went on a Saturday afternoon. Very busy, but seems they are capable of handling the volume. The bartender was busy tending to about 40 people where we sat, but was attentive and didn't seem rushed with us. It's a beautiful location, but the crowd may block enjoying it. Parking is pretty short, though we managed to find a close spot pretty easily.
